To want to scream at clearing shit up again!

DD 1 is half potty trained. She is completely dry with wees but poos herself everyday! Often twice a day

When we started potty training a month ago she happily did her poos on the potty then suddenly she seems to have decided its better to shit herself. I'm trying to stay calm, to act nonchalant but I am starting to feel she is doing it by choice.

I want to scream and reach for the gin already and it's only 1.30!

How old is she?

I feel your pain. I have a 3 year old. We are trying to 'make the most' of the summer holidays with no school runs and supposedly better weather to crack the potty training. My eldest was a challenge in this respect so I have no expectations of it being easy. She is not bad at all for wees but all poos go in her pants. In the grand scheme of things it is not the end of the world but it is so frustrating.

My sympathies. I've had a soiling poo withholding child that lasted years. Then one who saw the angst the older one was causing so started shitting herself for attention and because she just couldn't be bothered to go to the loo. She'd see us trying to keep calm and say to the soiling one that is didn't matter, it was an accident and so on so she'd then shit herself and merrily strip off going "never mind, I'll get clean pants" urgh. Then she realised it was a bit of a pain getting cleaned up so she stopped that and started wetting instead which then turned into overactive bladder and we ended up under a consultant. Thank goodness the next one just toilet trained easily because I think I'd have topped myself if I'd had another difficult one!

Definitely not - my DD has been trained for 18 months and still shits her pants fairly often, drives me mental!

She did it today in fact - her brother had to duck into a pub near the park for a wee, I asked her twice if she needed to go, she said no, we went to the park and within 2 minutes she had crapped herself. It wasn't dramatic, just a small blob really and I made her wait until we had planned to leave (about 15 mins) rather than go straight away because I didn't believe it was fair on DS to make him leave early. She absolutely knew she needed to go and chose not to so she lived with the consequences of that decision.

Gives me total rage!! I spend most days watching her like a hawk for giveaway wriggling and nagging her to go to the goddamn toilet!

IamA that had me in stitches. Yes I think you win with the squiting cat!! And I'm surprised you survived your first 2 experiences of potty training ....the fact that it lasted years !! The only thing that gets me through the horror of potty training is gin believing this will only last a few more weeks. I better invest in a bigger bottle more wet wipes then!

rollon totally agree, it's my internal rage which surprises me. I wish I could just not care, to stay chilled but after she shat herself a secone time today I had to leave the room, I felt like burying my head in a pillow to scream obscenities!

I'm currently feeling more relaxed about it all as both DCs in bed and large glass in hand. And relax!

My potty trained for 18 months 3.5 year old DD has started pissing herself. She was even dry at night. I feel your pain. I actually want to scream.

My boy is 3 yr 2m. Fine with wees, even dry at night but will only poo in pants. Any attempts at persuading him to go on the potty or toilet inevitably result is 3 days of stool withholding. We're then back to movicol, so pooing in his pants is better than an unhappy boy holding-in poo!
The worst ones result in me throwing out the pants with the poo. Removing the pants/poo usually results in shit down his legs, over me, on the floor etc- you get the picture.
It's a bloody nightmare. But there are worse things in life.
He's healthy and a lovely boy :)

My 6 and a half year old still does it and it drives me bonkers. He has encopresis and sensory problems as well as autism so there's no hope at the moment. I'd be more understanding but he's never been potty trained and it's 90% of the time not wanting to go toilet
