I met for a coffee earlier at soft play with a couple of friends, one is pregnant and trying to find a name that 'goes' with her D's name. We was talking about how we had all come up with our DC name and where the inspiration came from etc....friend 1 has four daughters. I have never ever noticed before but she told me that she gave them names in order so that the first letters of each name spelt a word. Just by luck, she had four daughters in a row. 2&3 were twins. There initials spell love...which df has tattooed on her wrist. Which I have seen but just never asked why, thought love was just self explanatory haha. Anyway I thought it was lovely. Pregnant friend was sniggering and laughing once our friend had left, being a real bitch, she said to me, what fucking idiot does that? Called her a hippy etc. Just wondering what others opinions are? I just can't help but think how lovely thay was and I would do something similar myself!

wigglesrock I'm trying and failing to think of which TV show you mean!

My soon to be 3 DDS initials combined spell IPS. Hahah international post service Hmm

I have 3 DDs and their names end with the same sound as do their middle names. I know mumsnetters don't like that but I'm very happy with the choices I made. When a good friend (who had known us for years) realised she was horrified and exclaimed "What about individuality?" Erm, that's why I gave them DIFFERENT names Hmm

Her DD's name is a shortened version of a traditional name which is something that I wouldn't do but each to their own. I would never comment on other people's name choices in a negative way!

I actually think that's a lovely idea and cruel of your pregnant friend to judge, even if it's not something she would do herself, she needs to kee her trap shut

RuggerHug · 11/08/2016 12:46

wigglesrock Sons of anarchy is amazing though Grin

Hullo everyone,

The OP got in touch with us and asked if we could withdraw her post - which we have done.

enchantmentandlove · 11/08/2016 12:50

That is such a lovely idea! I wish I would definitely do that, but dd's name begins with an 'e' - not sure what word I would make with that Hmm

JeanGenie23 · 11/08/2016 12:55

My families initials spell Jam, hahaha I was looking for tattoo ideas, that will be my next one Smile

toadgirl · 11/08/2016 12:56

enchantmentandlove

ENJOY?

Though that could necessitate having more children than you had intended!

wigglesrock · 11/08/2016 12:59

enchantmentandlove - EVER. Oh I've a new obsession, I'll be doing this all day now Grin

enchantmentandlove · 11/08/2016 13:10

toadgirl

Haha, I would love 5 but don't see Dh agreeing to that somehow Confused

wiggles

He may agree to four! Wink

I could use 'enchantment' like my name here, but Dh would definitely not agree to that many...Although not sure I'd want that many either!

MermaidTears · 11/08/2016 13:15

Although it's quite simple. It's actually a very clever idea and not something I would ever think of!

Enchanted you could make a word from initials but maybe not in birth order? Haha
Like have three kids with L O V names and work backwards from the E name your DD has Wink

mermaid

That's an idea! Wink Oh I'm going to be obsessed with this now and dd is only a few months old haha.

Your friend not the mean one sounds lovely by the way, I'd love to be her friend!

FithColumnist · 11/08/2016 13:29

It's twee, but subtle enough to make it actually really sweet.

(Just realised that a very straight-laced friend's four DSs' initials spell out J I Z Z- I'm kind of concerned...)

Angelto5 · 11/08/2016 13:43

The initials of my 5dc make a word but we didn't notice till after number 4 & the last name was decided around it.

Snort...oh dear :)

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 11/08/2016 14:33

Your pregnant friend seems very very immature giggling and mocking behind someone's back. I left that behind at 12.
She doesn't sound like she is ready for a gold fish let alone a baby. What a great example she'll be to a baby. Laughing at people because they're have different opinions to her.

MermaidTears · 11/08/2016 14:35

Yes she is very sneaky about my other friend. I think it boils down to the age old jealousy issue! Puts her down to make herself feel better. I think she would love to have her life tbh

It's quite sweet
