to think a parcel should not be left on my doorstep

I've never given them permission to do this, but they still do.

I ordered something last week that said it would be delivered approximately by last sat-tue. Its only just been dispatched and I leave tomorrow. So it probably will be delivered on Saturday when I'm away for the weekend and I worry that it advertises that my house is empty.

Have they said they'll leave it on the doorstep? Is it being delivered by a courier company? Often they'll have a local collection point where it can be stored and a note will be put through your door telling you where it is. Or they'll take it away and attempt delivery another day.
