If you ring your council, they should be able to give you all the info.

SilverDragonfly1 · 10/08/2016 09:01

This will tell you if your council offers help

Depends on the school Rip - it's not, as far as I know, a statutory "thing" in the UK. But most schools will set aside some pupil premium money to help with these costs.

I would email the school asking for their process. You may not get a response until the start of term though, although there may be admin staff in before then. If the school has an INSET day before the children are in then pop in, if you haven't had a response.

Does anyone know if the grant covers the whole cost or part of the cost of the uniform?

TheSnowFairy · 10/08/2016 09:44

My school covers the whole cost for children on free school meals, and pupil premium children's circumstances are looked at on an individual basis.

In our area you get £70 clothing grant (just checked my local authority website)

Noonesfool · 10/08/2016 09:51

Blimey. I had no idea about the government thing.

Interesting

SharonfromEON · 10/08/2016 09:51

Our area don't do it..

dementedpixie · 10/08/2016 09:59

Seems to differ by local authority though as our neighbouring council offer only £50
