to think that a kids to presenter

should be able to carry a fecking tune if they work on a programme that involves music and singing?!!
I am of course referring to Pui Fan Lee on Cbeebies' Show Me Show Me.
Chris can sing quite well. Pui however, cannot. Makes me want to go temporarily deaf for the time it is on Blush and the worst part?! My Dd loves this infernal show! She is standing at the tv cabinet, having a little boogy as we speak!
I can't be only one who thinks Pui is completely tone deaf and needs to be replaced or just stopped from singing?!

Ah she's not that bad, I don't think Chris is any better to be honest. I've certainly heard worse singers!

I think it is good to have non dancers dancing about, non singers singing - entertaining children (which she is really good at) shouldn't be about being slick and polished it should be about enthusiasm and willingness to make a tit of oneself when necessary.

She just needs to be perky and bland for kids TV and she ticks both those boxes. Singing is a bonus.

Not at all! That being said the whole program makes me want to throw things at the tv. But ds loves it and was dancing along to it this morning too. If the world didn't end when I changed channel when it's on I would!

The 'good' singers (thinking of the level of Milkshake presenters) all seem like they are just fucked off that they missed their chance to be in a boy/girl band.

YABVU Chris and Pui are the best thing on CBeebies!! I was irrationally devastated when they stopped being part of the main presenting team!
Sadly my children have grown out of CBeebies now, but I swear it kept me
sane during the toddler days!

I'll never hear a bad word said about Show Me Show Me.

Tell you who are worse singers? The CBeebies presenters. Occasionally they'll show Andy singing Twinkle Twinkle (or maybe some other nursery rhyme, I've tried to block it out) and I cringe so hard for him Grin

Anyway, it's nice for children to hear people with ordinary singing voices instead of X Factor style perfection. It's the sort of thing they're used to hearing at playgroups, etc.

I used to hate SMSM.

Dd loves it though- and it has grown on me.

Chris and Pui are just so damned enthusiastic, it's infectious!

So anyone know how i can get in contact with the guy that does sooty now... richard cardell and ask him to invite rod jane and freddy on an episode.
Becuase i really feel it will boost sooty's ratings if the singers from rainbow are on it, the hard core rainbow fanbase will join forces with the Sooty people that way.

DH downloaded Andy's album the other day. He's not the most talented, but stupid songs about odd socks and "the dinosaur - football legend mega match" definitely make journeys pass more quickly.

Also Andy can do no wrong, Prehistoric Adventures is ace.

Chris and Pui are lovely, and not too try-hard smiley. Normal people playing, that's what Show Me Show Me is, and that's a great thing for kids TV.
