My waffle iron

OohMavis · 06/08/2016 06:50

I don't use it. Because I never make waffles. I didn't think the whole 'yeah let's buy a waffle iron' thing through. I do this a lot.

So to save giving it away to someone else who will probably neglect it in the cupboard next to the equally neglected Brita filter jug, what can I use it for that doesn't involve a waffle recipe?

Preferably breakfasty things. My aim is to impress DS this morning with something unusual and fun. The toastie maker thread was amazing (I was THIS CLOSE to buying one).

Any ideas?

Don't know but my DH made the most delicious waffles yesterday topped with a choice of maple syrup, chocolate sauce or maple syrup...

BrianButterfield · 06/08/2016 06:56

I bet you could do omelettes in them.

ProfessorPreciseaBug · 06/08/2016 06:56

You are totally unreasonable to expect people to resolve your waffle iron dilemma. Smile

You should exercise more self control and thinnk things through in future..Indeed on reflection, you should carry the waffle iron around with you all the time so that when next tempted to buy an equivalent, you have one in your handbag to remind you not to be so silly...

cexuwaleozbu · 06/08/2016 06:58

You can do amazing toasted sandwiches in them.
Yes omelets also work.

I'm definitely NBU. I decided this before I posted, so that's settled.

Omelettes eh... Hmm.

Mavis,
The smilie was supposed to be a hint.... after all you said shit you posted in AIBU...

But I do think if you are an impulsive buyer of tut, you should carry the iron in your handbag to stop you repeating yourself...

blueistheonlycolourwefeel · 06/08/2016 07:23

Send it to me. Smile

I wonder if it would make a decent hash brown? And actually cook it all the way through?
