to get my driveway sealed

My driveway is covered in weeds. I've had a few people come and give me quotes to clean it, but I'm confused by the option of sealing it, some say it will protect against weeds for 5 years, others say it's more hassle than it's worth and a clean and sand every few years is all that's needed. What's the best option?

I had mine sealed - it was pointless. The weeds/moss are as bad as ever. I am considering getting it ripped up and replaced as there's a lot of it and it costs billions to have to cleaned/weeded/sanded and I'd need a week off work to do it myself.
