To miss the old ITV logos?

The best out of the old ITV logos/jingles were, without a doubt, Thames Television, London Weekend and Yorkshire Television.

I associate one with 'Rainbow' with Geoffrey Hayes, one with 'Play your Cards Right' oh yes and 321 is about to come on!!

On a more negative note, I used to hate Sunday nights when the spinning Knight of Anglia Television would appear followed by Sale of the Century; - as I'd have dreaded school in the morning!

Ah, yes - the sterling silver knight statuette perched on the record player turntable - high tech stuff indeed.

Haha! - in my world it'll always be the mid 1980s!

I only recognise the first half of these - I moved away from the Thames area in 1984

I think before the start of one of the programmes, one variation of the logo is they 'break' through the paper - I think it's Benny Hill Show

The old ITV logos and idents are from a time when the third channel was distinctly regional. Goodness knows why it ever had to morph into the one-dimensional article we have now.

As a Yorkshireman I'm probably being disloyal in saying the YTV chevron logo was a bit naff. However, the start-up music ( the Yorkshire Television March) was a real musical tour de force.

I always thought the ATV, LWT and HTV identa and jingles were the business.

tanfield - I loved the music for the Yorkshire one - and before 321 they added a twist - they made the chevron 'jump' off the page! I also loved the LWT ident.

Do you remember the Thames one when Kenny Everett did it but it was all boobs rather than the buildings?

DesolateWaist - no I don't remember! - Disappointed I missed that one will try and see if it's on YouTube!!
