Posting for traffic!

I've recently given birth to a beautiful baby girl and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction with regard to benefits.

My partner and I are both 24.. Private renting. I am a full time student, just finished my first year. My partner has just finished his PGCE and unemployed. But will be starting employment in September.

The fact I'm a student means I can't use the online calculators to calculate what we're entitled to.

Does anyone know what benefits/tax credits we can claim against at all and how to go about it.

I realise I'll have to inform the relevant persons in September when my partner starts work.

Thanks so much!

Just use the online calculator and enter income but not any student loans etc they are disregarded. That will give you a fairly accurate figure

I should think

Child benefit
Child tax credit
Housing and council tax benefit

Possibly income support

Definitely not income support, he's working soon. Maybe job seekers
