To love reading the Times

I don't know why I've not read it before, it's fab. I think it's because it's free at Waitrose. I'm being brave after my last post on Adele, posting again, and interested to hear your opinions.

We usually only get it on a Saturday (free at Waitrose too). It takes us the whole week to read it at breakfast time generally.
I always read Melanie Reads 'Spinal Column' first to see how her week has gone. DH & I like Robert Cramptons 'Beta Male' too.
Love the weekend section. We have stayed in a hotel recommended in there in Sorrento. I always think that we should keep loads of the holiday stuff from there, but our drawers would be crammed.
Like seeing whose got married & what their life story is of how they got together.
Sometimes will get a Thursday edition too on my day off, but sometimes just don't (even though free with Waitrose shopping) because then there's no chance of finishing Saturday's paper.

don't you find the Times extremely verbose, sort of up itself? No other paper seems to waffle on and on about nothing in quite the same way.

I like the Times (apart from today's crap about woman leaders' haircuts) because although it's solidly right wing, it does give space to columnists who don't fit it's political view of the world. Janice Turner, Caitlin Morab, etc. It's middle class and knows it, none of the hand wringing but we are working class at heart stuff of the Guardian. Sometimes the news can be a bit Murdochised, but unlike the rest of the Murdoch papers it came out Remain.

Having said that I don't like it quite as much as I used to...

We get the Times every day, and it doesn't feel as if I have started my day properly unless I have sat and read it, with my morning pint of coffee. I enjoy the puzzles in the Times2 section, though I only do the Polygon and a killer sudoku, because if I tried to do them all, I'd be there all day!

I don't find it verbose or up itself - I like the use of language, and the way stories are put across. But it's horses for courses, isn't it?

No, its Murdoch and therefore stinks of agenda. I do read it, as I like to read a variety of papers, but can't say I'm a fan.
