AIBU to take my 3 1/2 year old to see the BFG?

He loves movies, doesn't scare easy/have nightmares, and is fairly clear in his understanding of "pretend", etc.
I've read a few reviews, which seem to differ - some say it's too "slow / boring" for a 3 yo anyway (not that it is those things - only if you're 3 - IYSWIM)
We've got a really nice afternoon planned to go with DH, and he's excited, but now I'm hesitating and wondering if it is going to scare / bore the pants off him.
Has anyone seen it yet? Thanks in advance Smile

My nearly 4 year old is terrified of just the adverts! Even though we've been listening to the audiobook for the last few weeks & he is familiar with the story.
I'd say maybe wait til it's out on DVD & it's not on the huge screen.

Finding Dory was good but DS didn't like it as much as The Secret Life of Pets, which we've been to see three timesBlush
