That baby seagull you hear - the one that's been crying all day long, because it's on ground level (parents are on chimney pots listening)
Can you not go an do something - capture it - put it on a higher level?
Nighttime is falling. Foxes will be out and it will be curtains unless you help this poor bird.

I tried earlier to help the bird and had the evil eye off the neighbors (thought I was crazy woman)

This is a last ditch plea. You must be deaf not to hear it.

I'm normally pretty anti-fox but your scenario has given me pause for thought.

Rickstone, a baby seagull (possibly injured wing) has been wandering the streets, all day long.
I can see that the parents are watching from a nearby chimney pot.
I called the RSPCA. bUT they won't come out for a seagull

I can still hear it, crying, 10 hours later.
The neighbours near it, MUST hear it. But are choosing to ignore.
I don't understand that mentality.

Funny enough, I read about something similar the other day, apparently this is how they teach them to fly if you intervene you're not helping them at all.

Apparently, you're not alone finding it difficult due to the screaming, the advice was this is perfectly normal.

I'd probably take it to bed with me.

I'm lacing in boundaries when it comes to animals though.

I've called RSPCA.
I've tried capturing it myself.
this is a last ditch appeal I suppose......

It's cries sound so distressing!

Not much we can do.

But...

Get a duvet case, tie a knot in all four corners to weight it.
Take out a washing basket too.

Throw the duvet like a net, once seagull is under, put the washing basket over the "lump".
Scoop all four corners together carefully and make a bag of sorts.
What ypou do after that is anyone's guess.

Or, google wildlife rescues in your area.

I noticed that when I went near it, it did attempt to fly.
~So, hopefully if a cat or fox were near, it would really get the flying thing sorted.

It's crazy, normally I don't even like seagulls, but this baby gull's crying has got to me!

That sounds really unpleasant and I am glad I am not having to listen to it. I did grow up on a farm though and the harsh realities of nature were day to day.

Did the RSPCA give any advice at all? I suspect you will need to thole it.

As for your neighbours - don't think too badly of them. There could be many reasons they are not responding like you

RSPCA are shit - have a Google for wildlife rescues in your area.

I once kept a pigeon in a car carrier in my bathroom for two weeks, feeding it and making it strong again after I found it at the bottom of the garden too weak to fly. Everyone thought I was mental, but I was so proud when he was able to fly off

Are you sure it's not injured? It seems a bit odd that the parents are just leaving it for so long to fend for itself.

I caught a large, fully grown seagull with a broken wing several years ago.

Asked a young man in a nearby shop if he had a cardboard box, threw my dog's blanket over him, seagull, not young man, stuck him in the box - the young man had made some holes in it for me - sealed it with tape and took him to the vet in the boot of the car. It was a bit of a faf as I'd just come from the supermarket and had a week's shopping in my boot that had to be transferred to the back seat.

Anyway, drove him to the vet 20 minutes away and they put him to sleep.
Poor thing, I think he must have been struggling for some time as he didn't put up much of a fight when I caught him. Handsome creature though.
I can't say seagulls are my favourite birds but couldn't walk away.

I do recall a baby blackbird in my garden many years ago. It cheeped and cheeped for hours. I ended up going out and digging up a worm for it as I had no idea what else to do. I sort of chucked the worm towards the baby which made it take off. Just as it did that the dad bird arrived and sat on the wall looking around a bit confused.

I do hope my baby bird was alright after I jolted it into action.

I suspect that this is the same situation though.

the distress sounds from this baby gull are pitiful.

I think gulls get a bad rep.

But they're very maternal/paternal.
