To ask how to reverse park in a bay?

Ive been only driving a few months and cannot reverse into a bay!

Could you please give me some tips on how to do this, some reference points etc.

My instructor taught me in the test centre car park which is always empty and massively wide spaces and his car was a small too so you really couldn't go wrong! Thought it wasn't much use in the real world hence my post.

I've been driving for 20 years and can park without thinking about it 99% of the time, but I still make a mess of it occasionally and end up just driving off to collect my thoughts!

Me too. :) over 25 years.

I usually go straight past the spot, reverse until the booth of the car starts being in front of the space, then reverse slowly, looking at all mirrors. Sometimes I overdo the front, so that I can adjust the back as I slowly reverse, if I got too close to either cat on the sides.
(Where I say slowly, it's often not so much, as I'm queen of reverse parking at my local commuting car park Grin)

It is much easier than front parking and uses less road space, once you get the hang of it.

My tip from my driving lessons days: when you start, focus and breath deep. Don't let yourself be distracted by passengers, onlookers or life in general.
