To ask how you make money from surveys

Elephantslovetofly · 15/07/2016 10:29

I've heard that it's possible to make a bit of extra cash by filling in online surveys

Any of you do this? Are there any good websites I can join to get started?

Thanks

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'm on mat leave and was just thinking I could try and earn a few quid whilst feeding the baby etc!

I like Opinion Outpost. IME you don't tend to get screened out very often but when you do it happens quick. It also has a low cash out - £2.50 and obviously it doesn't take long to reach it.

Not surveys but I also have Qmee installed. It's an extension where you can basically make money browsing the internet.

How do you get an invite to shop and scan?

muminthecity · 15/07/2016 17:02

I've got an app called enlightly which gives you cash for quick and easy surveys. It's not much, but it does add up if you spend just a few minutes a day on it, and they pay directly into your bank account.

Freshprincess · 15/07/2016 17:16

I saw a Pinecone invite on the freepostcodelottery yesterday. They are probably the best and most consistent one I do. £3 per survey, usually 2/3 per month and I never get screened out. I signed up for Prolific Academic a few months ago but have only just started to use them. Not particularly high paying, but usually pretty interesting topics and pays out to PayPal.

You'll never get rich doing it and it won't replace a full time income, but it's not bad for an extra few quid here and there.

have a read of this it's a pretty good review of the best ones.

Any income you earn through doing surveys and similar things has to be declared through HMRC. If it's your only source of income it's very unlikely to be enough to push you into the tax paying bracket, but you still have to register as self-employed and complete a tax return.

LockedOutOfMN · 15/07/2016 17:22

How do you sign up to Prolific? I'm on this webpage, but can't see how to sign up? (Sorry if I'm being dim!)

I am a member of Surveybods. I do a couple of surveys a week to fund my Amazon habit. It soon adds up. If you pm me your first name and email I get 100 points for a referral, or you can just go direct if you prefer.

Hygellig · 15/07/2016 17:42

I do Pinecone ones. After about three in have enough for a £10 Amazon voucher so it helps fund my Kindle habit. However the surveys don't happen very often. I also do some Ipsos ones but it takes forever to do enough surveys to get a £10 voucher. Very occasionally there is the opportunity to do some research with a £15 or so voucher incentive.

Tarrarra · 15/07/2016 18:18

I do Pinecone and Panelbase - Pinecone does pay best but I don't seem to get many surveys - maybe one per month?

More of a hobby than an income!

TyneTeas · 15/07/2016 23:50

Qmee as well

Won't make you rich but adds up

ladyjadey · 16/07/2016 00:07

OP, if you pm me your email address I will send you invitations to the sites I am registered with. One pays cash (via cheque) and I make lots of money in Amazon vouchers from a couple of others which come in very handy for birthday and xmas.

Dexterjamesmummy · 16/07/2016 03:12

Ladyjadey would you send me the links too please?

ladyjadey · 25/07/2016 23:18

Yes of course, pm me your email and I will send invitations.

Rosae · 25/07/2016 23:22

.

FitbitAddict · 26/07/2016 08:36

I use Global Test Market and I make about £30 each month in Amazon vouchers although there are lots of alternatives including cash via PayPal. Through them I have also joined three discussion groups (Tesco, Coty and Twitter) which usually pay £5 voucher each month per group.

Hygellig · 27/07/2016 08:50

If anyone wants a referral for the Ipsos surveys, please PM me.

I use onepoll. Short surveys between 5p and 50p and pays put everytime you reach £20. You can get there quite quickly if you check it regularly but i always forget!!

thecatsarecrazy · 09/10/2016 14:20

I do OnePoll and valued opinions. I paid for a new pram using valued opinions

thecatsarecrazy · 09/10/2016 14:23

£40'payout for OnePoll

MrsHathaway · 09/10/2016 14:24

Pinecone seem to come in waves - you get three in a week then nothing for a month.

They often send things to test though. I tested some dishwasher tablets once and they sent a box of seventy. We were pretty much addicted by the time they ran out.

I don't do it for income. Occasionally I'll cash out a reward (eg my luffly Brabantia kitchen scales) but I don't equate it to money, just presents.

Cupcakesarah · 09/10/2016 14:26

And also do surveys- as it's on your browser, it's very easy to see if you can do a survey, no logging into emails :) I've not made much, about £4 a month, but it will add up

Cupcakesarah · 09/10/2016 14:26
