Has anyone else been watching Trainspotting Live on BBC 4? It's so geeky but so compelling. I shouldn't like it but they are just so very enthusiastic. I'm even thinking to go outside and watch the trains going past my house.

Do I need to just pull myself together or are other people feeling swayed by the trainspotty joy?

It's on again in half an hour... But it's the LAST episode!

The flying Scotsman has been through locally a few ties recently..... The public love it!

BigTroubleInLittleChina · 13/07/2016 19:41

Only if you have an anorak to wear.

gadfly90 · 13/07/2016 19:44

It takes me back to when I was small and listened to my dad's LP of train noises over and over.

You could say I'm... chuffed.

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 19:57

MumOnTheRun Yay! I think I would be excited now if I saw that.

BigTrouble I've got a pac-a-mac for festivals in a cupboard somewhere. That's gotta be close enough.

I'm watching Michael Portillo and Trains on BBC2 at the moment. Don't know if it's his lovely voice or the trains that I love most. I've not seen Trainspotting, might have to watch on catchup. Enjoy!

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 20:03

Gadfly That's a terrible joke!

What do you call a train with hayfever?

Achoo-choo train

OP posts:
gadfly90 · 13/07/2016 20:05

EasterRobin Your joke was worse. Clearly you need... training.

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 20:06

Gadfly Yours made you seem loco

gadfly90 · 13/07/2016 20:08

EasterRobin I assure you my locomotion is fine. I just have unusual carriage.

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 20:12

Gadfly Is that the problem? I assumed you were wearing platforms.

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 20:15

Marylou2 Ooh, the BBC must be having some sort of train-fest. I will watch the Michael Portillo one on catch-up.

OP posts:
gadfly90 · 13/07/2016 20:18

EasterRobin I don't need platforms; I can do points.

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 20:23

Gadfly That's a good one-liner; like a monorail.

EasterRobin I'm an engine-eous crafter of puns.

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 20:30

Gadfly It seems like you keep getting side-tracked.

OP posts:
gadfly90 · 13/07/2016 20:31

EasterRobin Ooh, slipping a bit. Are you... running out of steam?

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 20:37

Gadfly Me slipping? You're so slow you're almost station-ary.

OP posts:
gadfly90 · 13/07/2016 20:42

EasterRobin This is hardly slow. It's a same-day return.

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 20:49

Gadfly I think this thread's been derailed.

OP posts:
gadfly90 · 13/07/2016 20:51

EasterRobin It's dieselly done.

everygalaxy · 13/07/2016 20:57

We were so excited to see our wedding venue and one of the firemen from our wedding train. Don't think I'm going to take up train spotting though!

EasterRobin · 13/07/2016 20:59

Gadfly Now you've really crossed the line.
