Best hotel alternative to Legoland Windsor

Sorry to ask on AIBU but I have had such good advice before and we are a bit desperate. We have been allocated free tickets to Legoland through the Merlins Wish charity for our disabled daughter. We found out today that she has to go in for an operation we were desperately hoping she wouldn't have to have in a few weeks We were saving up to stay in the Legoland hotel and hoping to stay in September but that's out the window now. We have £250 saved and Legoland hotel have quoted me over £450 for next weds night. I can't believe it's so much and we just can't afford it. My DD will be so disappointed as she was so looking forward to staying there. Are there any other hotels nearby that do any sort of Lego theme? Any help would be so much appreciated.

Hmm, not lego themed, but there are hotels right opposite Windsor castle that might fit the bill, a Mercure, there is also a Holiday Inn in Windsor centre. Take a look on last minute or similar and have a look at Windsor, go through Topcashback too (top tip)
There are lots of B & Bs around, if you look on one of the hotel sites (Hotel.com e,g,) they will state what disabled facilities there are.

If you look on the Legoland website, there are accommodation options other than the Legoland hotel. They all give prices with tickets etc included but you could just call the hotels direct (or better yet look on booking.com) to get prices for a room without tickets included.

The Beamont Estate in Old Windsor is in your price range and is 3 miles from the park, crikey the hotels are expensive, there is one luxury family room left there, there are nice pubs around there and a Toby carvery for a budget dinner.

The Travel Lodge in Slough is fairly close, we've stayed there a few times, if you book in advance you can sometimes get the £29 rooms too.

It's not lego themed but we've stayed at premier inns in slough and bracknell for legoland. With the 100s you save you could buy some lego to put in the room!

We stayed In the Beaumont Estate. 10 mins from the park, excellent facilities and is 5 mins from a harvester restaurant.

Price wise we saved a fortune staying here. Would very highly recommend it.

We went this weekend and stayed at the crowne plaza, big hotel, very spacious rooms, welcome packs for kids and balloons etc plus free breakfast in the morning and parking. Would definetly reccommend.

Travelodge in Slough worked well for us.

We had a family room at the travelodge in the centre of Windsor. Location was great, walking distance to the castle and you could get a bus to Legoland from round the corner. Some lovely shops and restaurants on the doorstep too

Save your money and stay at a travelodge or similar - if you can get the one at terminal 5 in Heathrow it is quite new and all airconditioned. They charge for parking but it is free if you have a Blue Badge (give your reg number to reception). Use the money saved to buy your dd something nice in the shop instead.

The Novotel at Heathrow is fabulous.

Toy for children at check in, small pool, interconnecting rooms (second room at 50% rate) and nice restaurant with various buffet options.

We've stayed there twice, and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

About a 20 minute drive to legoland.

We stayed at the Novotel too. They even gave us conjoined rooms FOC because our son doesn't sleep well and he would keep the other 2 kids awake . Great pool, lovely gifts for the boys as it wa their birthday and the kids are free!!!!!

There's a holiday inn express next to Slough train station, I quite liked it there!

We use the Travelodge in Windsor centre which is perfect location wise as you can wander round Windsor as well or the Premier Inn at M4/J4 is pretty good too but you have to drive to any amenities. It's usually cheap though and has its own parking, onsite restaurant and is very quiet - the front of the hotel overlooks a cemetery.

We stayed at the Maidenhead Holiday Inn. I would highly recommend it. Pool, kids ate free, cookies and milk for the kids in the evening (free), snack bag for the kids the next day (also free) and nothing was too much trouble.

Alternatively could you ring the Legoland hotel and see if they'll do it cheaper for you? Cheeky, but might be worth an ask?

We got a one night , 2 days at Legoland deal staying at the Mariott hotel and the kids still talk about the hotel.I think it was the amazing buffet breakfast! I think they may have a mid week family room within your budget.

Copthorne hotel in Slough was fine

Good idea about using the money saved to buy some Lego for your suitcase and put it in the room. I bought a Lego friends magazine in advance for my dd and gave it to her in the hotel.
Don't forget to take proof of your dd's disability to get passes from guest services in Lego land so you don't need to queue.

Honestly I would ring legoland hotel and ask to speak to manager at the hotel. Explain your situation and how u have the tickets. Be cheeky and say you have £250 and would thty be able to do anything
