It is bedtime for dd.
We are all tired.
We have been at the village fair all day.
Not much lunch.

Ds has been in the parade.
Helped on the stalls
Helped pack away
Help dismantle the security fences

Now he is playing with his mates, ignoring us. And filthy.

It's only 5 miles home. He obviously has loads of energy as he is running around.

He knows his way home...

WIBU to leave him here until he is ready?

He is nearly 13...

Tell him you are going, make sure his phone gas charge and credit (or a mates does) and go. Why not?

BennyTheBall · 09/07/2016 19:37

Only 5 miles Shock

Just tell him it's time to go home. And take him home.

branofthemist · 09/07/2016 19:38

5 miles? Yabu.

It's time to go home. Just tell him

pigsDOfly · 09/07/2016 19:45

Yes, and in a short while he may suddenly be tired out and want to go home and then he'll have a 5 mile journey to do on his own.

It's getting on for 8. I wouldn't leave my 13 year old to find his way home at that time after a long day.

Just tell him you're going and it's time to leave.

NerrSnerr · 09/07/2016 19:52

Just tell him you're leaving and he has to come.

cbigs · 09/07/2016 20:03

Jesus op! I don't k ow that letting a 12 year old walk five miles as the light is fading and the weather crap is ideal... Confused

Gazelda · 09/07/2016 20:05

5 miles?! I think that is too far. It'd take him at least 1.5 hours.
Just tell him it's time to leave.

Snowflakes1122 · 09/07/2016 20:07

No, I wouldn't let my child walk home 5 miles this time of night at 13.
He has to do as he is told and come home with you.

Topseyt · 09/07/2016 20:13

5 miles home on his own!! No. Not at 13. He goes when you say.

I thought you were going to say it was just down the road, in which case let him be for a bit longer. But you are in the next village and he probably only has you as transport. You would be very silly to leave him.

Libitina · 09/07/2016 20:18

YABU

Just tell him to get in the car.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 09/07/2016 21:29

We are home.
Weather is nice here. Still light.
He was in his viz...
Finally got his attention and got him out of the mud.

He has whined constantly about being tired and hungry.
No sympathy there!
