Dating profile intro (a guy's, not mine):

"Hopefully your bar is set lower than mine"

What?!?

How bizarre. Not really selling himself.

Jokey self deprecation falling flat?

Flacidunicorn · 08/07/2016 23:11

He sounds like an absolute cock.
He probably thinks hes clever, going for the sympathy vote or pity or what have you. He still sounds like a douche

Well maybe it's better to under sell than over sell? How many times has an Internet date ended with someone not being what they said or implied? It might sound shallow but you build an image in your head if you chat for a bit and then meet and even if it's something slight that's different it can feel off. Also some people go for the sympathy vote. Clearly he's not for you so why worry?

Self deprecating humour Smile

Lots of people do it and some find it attractive.

Flacidunicorn are you always this vitriolic about people? You'd think from your reply that he'd announced he kicks fluffy kittens just for fun.
