Being referred to as 'the preggo'

Would anybody else think it is a little bit, just a smidge bit rude to be called a 'preggo'. I.e in Facebook posts, 'having dinner with xx and xx and the preggo'.

I do have a name.

These are the same people who no doubt say 'the hubby', and 'the boy' for their son.

Wolfiefan · 04/07/2016 20:32

No Salem. The boy will be "lil man"
Boak.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 04/07/2016 20:34

My dsis has been calling me Pregasaurus. I don't mind, but I can see how it would be irritating for you.

pinkieandperkie · 04/07/2016 20:36

Grin at pregasaurus

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 04/07/2016 20:36

I don't think it would bother me.

My neighbour referred to me as Fatty Grin

RumAppleGinger · 04/07/2016 20:38

DH referred to me as Pregatron once.

Lockheart · 04/07/2016 20:40

Oh I love Pregatron and Pregasaurus.... I'd get those on tshirts Grin

VioletVaccine · 04/07/2016 20:46

Pregatron and Pregasaurus Grin brilliant

OutrageousFlavourLikeFreesias · 05/07/2016 12:50

My DB took to calling his wife "Pregnantia" when she was pregnant. She is the loveliest person in the world but even she was a bit unimpressed.

Whoopsydo · 05/07/2016 12:55

Argh. People who describe themselves as 'preggo' make me want to gouge my eyes out. I'm guessing the ladies that are 'preggo' go on to have a 'lil man' or 'lil lady' . Equally criminal.

Champagneformyrealfriends · 05/07/2016 12:57

I got "preggers" my whole pregnancy Grin

RortyCrankle · 05/07/2016 13:20

My Sister was once referred to as the sprog carrier Grin

TeamSteady · 05/07/2016 13:26

I got called Fatty whilst six months pg with ds3 by a school mum... a raised eyebrow and deliberate looking her up and down and she didn't do it again! Grin but she did get very offended!!!

tibbawyrots · 05/07/2016 13:37

A new member of staff being introduced. This is Xx she's our accounts person, this is yy our receptionist, this is zz our sales manager and this is Tibba. She's pregnant. Hmm

dabofriojakitten · 05/07/2016 13:41

I refer to myself as Preggo but would NEVER call my child "lil man"

Anyway op it wouldn't really bother me I'd presume they were just being affectionate.

StarryIllusion · 05/07/2016 13:41

I hate that word. Preggo. Its just so...chav.

BlackeyedSusan · 05/07/2016 13:48

do they use crimbo and hubby as well?

Christinedonna · 05/07/2016 13:51

I feel you. It is very annoying that people seem to forget I'm a friend, sister, auntie, girl, HUMAN and not just an incubator. Jokes about whether or not I can see my feet or touch my toes or stupid questions like "do you feel like you're going to topple over" or "do you wake up and forget until you try and move and can't" are just a bit insensitive

YoungGirlGrowingOld · 05/07/2016 13:54

Our cat went out on the razz for 3 nights. DH eyes my 4.5 months pregnant belly and says "you've eaten him, haven't you?"

Fecker! Grin

whois · 05/07/2016 14:14

I'm laughing at some of these :-)

LizzieVereker · 05/07/2016 14:21

Ugh.

That is even worse than "Having dinner with this one", and the "this one" crap makes my soul hurt, so I feel for you.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 05/07/2016 14:26

justilou · 06/07/2016 09:08

Perhaps you should write something about going out to dinner with "Microman" or "Miniknob"
