Visiting friend in hospital

My friend is in hospital with suspected viral meningitis and I've arranged to go and visit her. I know it's not exactly contagious as such but should I be worried about other people on the ward? I have young children and don't want to spread any germs

When I had meningitis my parents were advised to not let anyone elderly or with small children visit.

But that was 17 years ago. I don't know if the advice has changed.

Really? That's what I was afraid of. I wasn't sure whether I was being too precious or not.

Probably best to call ahead and check with the nurses on the ward as there might be a policy in place. Hope your friend gets well soon.
