WIBU? Parent and child parking

Normally I don't condone using "reserved" parking spaces, but I seriously considered it today.
I'm away out for a day to a big show event with DDog when halfway along the motorway I realised I'd forgotten to fill up the big 5ltr pitcher of water that I carry in the car for DDog so decided to stop at the supermarket to get some water.
It's a sunny day and I was in and out in five minutes (windows wide open), however the only spaces in the shade were the P&Cs.
When I arrived at about 9.30, only two of the ten spaces were filled and when I left only one was.
WIHBU to have used one for the comfort and safety of DDog (I didn't, I just want views on this)

P&C spaces are a "nice to have" and not legally enforceable so no, YWNBU.

Im confused as to how it can have been 930am when you arrived...it isn't even 9am yet.

I think at 830am in the morning on a British summer day (ie not exactly very hot) there was no need for a p and c space for five minutes. I don't really have strong feelings either way though.

I don't think it's that much of a big deal. You could always say your dog is your child.

Assuming you're in the UK, then at 8:30 in the morning, even if it's the hottest day of the year, for 5 minutes wouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't have been at all concerned to see you parked in a P&C space TBH.

Cloud we do a lot of two-day shows, and I usually have at least one of DF's two with me (I show his youngest alongside mine). 5ltrs is usually needed.

Oh and it's a black car, so heats up quickly

It can't be that dreadfully hot because according to your op you did leave your dog in the car in a regular space. You must have considered it to be safe for the time you were away.

No problem at all. The dogs health and well being is more important and no-one would have been inconvenienced as no-one was there

Daisies 16 degrees at 8.30 is quite warm.
I do know have a stat agh at 20 degrees a car can be at 45 degrees inside within five minutes.
TBH I would never normall go to a supermarket with the dogs if it was 16 degrees, but in this situation leaving her at home wasn't an option.
I actually a withered about using a P&C space as I'm not confrontational and CBA if someone had decided to get it into their head to challenge me.

Sorry if this has been said. But why do posters jump in and say things like 'it's not even 9am yet' so how can it have happened at 9:30. My first thought would be that the op could live anywhere in the world!!! It is possible to be different times in different countries yano!
