We go to Spain end of July. I had (naively) assumed we'll remain in the EU and so haven't bothered changing £ to euros yet. Wwyd.......wait until last minute to change £ to euros, or do it sooner?

Digs out crystal ball.... Op i certainly wouldnt today but what i would do is monitor the market as you time. If the exchange rate is good at any point in next month jump and buy euros. Im no expert, just what id do.

Lottielou7 · 24/06/2016 10:32

I'm worried too but our holiday is AI so we won't need much money.

hollie11 · 24/06/2016 10:33

Thanks londonrach

Wait. It can't get worse. Sad

londonrach · 24/06/2016 10:34

Just write down exchange rate every day and keep fingers crossed...

LostSoreConfused · 24/06/2016 10:56

I luckily over bought euros last year and as we were going away this year didn't sell them back. Boy am I glad of thay! Just need to buy some top up so shouldn't be too much of a dent. We are going self catering, wish us luck

BarbaraofSeville · 24/06/2016 11:02

Don't panic and get them today. Hopefully things will settle down over next few weeks.

We're going away next weekend and I'm kicking myself I didn't get any but can't do anything about it now.

mrsfuzzy · 24/06/2016 11:03

it'll be fine, have a great holiday !

Trills · 24/06/2016 11:03

I wouldn't do it today, certainly.

Scarydinosaurs · 24/06/2016 11:16

You can't change it today in most places anyway- wait!

Hodooooooooor · 24/06/2016 11:17

It can get worse. And it will.

Sighing · 24/06/2016 11:24

The gap between euro and pound will probably reduce, but the pound will not make gains against other currencies for some years.

Hodooooooooor · 24/06/2016 11:28

All of you going to Europe on holiday now need twice as much spending money.

YerAWizardHarry · 24/06/2016 11:38

I go to Spain on Wednesday and haven't changed £ to € I feel very silly for not doing it sooner

Mistigri · 24/06/2016 12:43

Sterling's decline against the euro is much smaller than against the dollar, only about 3-4%. So unless you are planning to change thousands of pounds you will not be hugely out of pocket. That said, the market is going to be volatile and there are reports of tourists not being able to change pounds today, so I think I would be inclined to change at least half of what you need so as to lock in the current rate.

merrygoround51 · 24/06/2016 12:44

The advise is wait and do nothing this weekend.
