Skechers kids shoes

Just wondering if I'm being a bit unreasonable.
I bought some skechers trainers for my 7 yr old daughter 10 days ago,all well she loved the colours, loved the memory foam. The front of the shoes is now ripped to bits and starting to come away.
I took her to a skechers store yesterday to see what they coud do for me, as to me this amount of damage so quickly shows a problem with the shoe.
DD was wearing the trainers as they are the only ones she has!!
Ishowed them the damage and explained it was after normal wear: she has only really worn them to school.
Refused to listen to me, , dismissed it as normal wear and tear.
I'm really angry, they were not cheap and have not even lasted as long as her cheap Dunnes stores pair did, (I'm in ROI)
Am I unreasonable?
And if not has anyone got a number or email for customer service in Ireland as i can only find UK!

Don't know the number but you should definitely complain I have had mine for 18 months, wear them a lot so no way I'd this normal wear and tear!!

I have small feed and buy children's sketches for me. I have pairs that are many years old and have lasted really well. Yours are a bad batch and you need to get them refunded!

Your beef is with the shop you bought from. That's who the contract is with - whoever you exchanged money with. Don't let them fob you off. I've just tried finding customer service number (I'm in Ireland too) and couldn't. It shouldn't be that hard. If the shop are being arsey I'd contact the consumer association.

DD1 has a pair of memory foam, black mary-janes for school and they have lasted all school year (except a few months in boots over winter). We have been very impressed and will be buying again for this year. I have a couple of pairs of go-walk and have been alternating them since last summer and no damage at all.
It definitely sounds like yours are faulty. I would try tweeting and FBing them. Companies hate social media complaints.

I've Facebook and tweeted them, also emailed UK customer services as couldn't find ROI one.

That's weird. I've had some Skechers for years. Contact the company with photos and explain?

Skechers quality is generally not great. They are fashion shoes for the most part. They should last a lot longer than 2 weeks though!

I'm pretty surprised at their response though. A month ago I bought a pair of twinkle toes from abroad, which then turned out to be faulty when DD started wearing them. I took them to a local store (completely separate country) and they exchanged them for any pair in the store that she wanted.

I won't buy sketchers - I've had 2 pairs where part of the structure / fastenings have broken quite early on (admittedly not after 2 weeks though!). for that price I would expect everyday wear

I bought my DS some sketchers for school after 2 months they were falling apart the shop replaced them they said 3 months would be minimum they would expect them to last..

My Dd has the black leather mary janes from sketchers for school too and they have lasted all year, she is very hard on shoes.
If you got the fancy jeweled ones they don't seem to last as long. But I found the kids ones with a proper rubbery toe seem to last much better.
I have plain black memory foam bike shoes or something like that for work and they are lasting well.

I bought Skechers school shoes for DS and he came home 2 months later with the sole flapping off! I took them back to the Skechers store we bought them from (as they said they have a 12 month no quibble policy) and they gave me all the money back!

No way your experience is "normal wear and tear." Definitely tweet Skechers if no joy with the shop (I find tweeting gets a very fast response!)

I was in schuh the other night looking at those trainers I'm glad I didn't buy them now . They weren't cheap either considering I got a pair of nike trainers for less money. Take it as far as you can. Even Clarks refund on shoes not fit for purpose and these obviously aren't.

AbelMancwitch thats interesting! I'll see if I get any reponses to my tweets etc and if not I'll go in to the shop near work, I'll try and find some details of the return policy online.
