That's twice now in a very close space of time that I've seen a picture of a child that is obviously in need of immediate medical care

But the parents who post the pictures are asking what the think is wrong, or if they should see a doctor.

What on earth has happened to parents instinct? Seeing something wrong with your child and choosing the right course of action??

Maybe it's lack of sleep, of grief that's making me not deal with bullshit as I usually could/would but why can't people do the right thing??

The first thing I saw was a woman posting about her sons arm, that was OBVIOUSLY broken and she was asking if they needed to go to a&e.

And now I've just seen someone post about their child with some form of rash (looked like bruising) all over the child's body, asking if the child needs to see a doctor!

Gets me annoyed that some people don't have common sense!!

Completely agree - I reported the rash post as I very much hope it is made up...if not it is just crazy to post before seeking help. Yes post afterwards, yes post at A&E, but not in the midst of seeing your child with those symptoms.

I agree. The one that's got to me this evening is the with the pic of child with asymmetric smile followed by every single poster saying go to A&E. OP is still prevaricating and giving every reason motto go. FFS just get all the kids in a taxi and go, now.

If my DH had his way, 911 would be on speed dial and we'd live next to a hospital. I was hung over as fuck on Saturday morning. Projectile vomit and a stinking headache... he was adamant I was having a stroke. I had to talk him out of calling an ambulance!!

He actually once call the NHS line thingy when I was in agony with period pain. I was furious!! Since then, he's banned from calling for medical help unless I tell him he can!

I think common sense isn't so common these days.

PP I think your DH is overprotective! Get him read up on strokes!.

I don't mean the non obvious onces, we all have a little wobble about those.

But more often than not it should be a simple thing, take child to get the necessary medical attention. You know your child, you know if they need help, and most of the time to what degree they need help.

I haven't seen either of the threads but I do think it's because there have been so many campaigns about not going to A&E unless it is an emergency that people have lost the ability to decide what should be considered an emergency.

I think we all worry that we're being irrational and not judging a situation correctly, sometimes you just want a reality check to see if you're being over protective or rational.

I've just seen the rash thread - I take back everything I just said.

The little things are understandable! I've done it myself with a small rash around my daughters mouth. Since figured it's an allergic reaction but still not 100% on what she's allergic to.

It's the painfully (sometimes literally for the child) ones that annoy me.

The rash thread is like an extreme version of something I have seen a few times on Facebook. Parents taking photos of their DCs post vomit; surely you'd rush to help/clean up rather than grab a camera makes me so annoyed.

YANBU, that rash one earlier looked terrifying. If it were me I would have swept my child out of bed and driven straight to A and E. The one about the boy's face I'm not so sure on. I might well have posted for advice on something like that.

Yanbu. That rash post is horrendous. I also reported. Cannot get my head around that at all.

Like others, I completely understand for reassurance for minor things, but jeeezzzz.
