What is it with actresses who are still young playing mothers of grown up children? Like Keeley Hawes in The Durrells, or now the French actress in Disappearance on Bbc 4 - she's 36!
Not sure what the aibu is - maybe aibu to think that this is somehow sexist?

Oh yanbu. It's a reflection on the whole industry. If you're an actor of the REAL age of a Mother of a son aged 25 then you'll be playing his Gran.

30 is a sort of cut off. But the other thing is that the parts are often shit anyway.

And the nans...

So you have a young adult, their strangely youthful mum, and the mum's mum is about 95.

Have you seen Kathy and Ian on Eastenders? She's 10/11 years older than him and has had work done...she looks like his younger sister sometimes!

DorothyL · 13/06/2016 19:43

There are eleven years between Alix Poisson and Maxime Taffanel who plays her son. Ridiculous.
