Chatting to a friend today who is a bit skint so considering using her spare room for Airbnb.

Conceptually I think the idea of a single lady inviting random people from the Internet to use her home is fucking bonkers but it got me wondering if the perception and reality are the same.

Is it safe? How common are the horror stories? Would you do it?

How would they know she was a single lady? Most people holiday as a couple or friends or groups - so advertise as £X per couple rather than a single rate - should be ok then!

I think you've missed the point cody, she'd be hosting not staying.

Yanbu I don't think this is a safe option for her either.

I haven't heard any horror stories! But both host and guest have to review each other, so presumably she could check out and veto prospective guests.

would you really trust an Internet review to be sufficient to allow people to stay in your home, have a key to get in and out and be there whilst you were sleeping too?

My home is my castle, so I wouldn't host anyone like this.
