To not clean up all the spider webs

My house isn't awfuly unclean, but the windows have all been open most of the time for a week. So I've got a spider in evey corner.

I like it as they catch the flys. But I'm selling my house. Should I get rid of them miners?

Yes you definitely should. TBH if I viewed a house with spiders webs in every corner I'd think the owners were lazy and scruffy and if they hadn't bothered to clean for viewings what else haven't they bothered to do (service boiler, maintain plumbing etc.)

Judgmental I know but that'd really put me off the house.

Thanks, anyone else have a view? I thought some may think that.

Depends whether you want people to put in a cheeky offer thinking it's a bit grubby?!

Personally speaking if a property was right and the right price and in the right place then it would be so rare that a couple of webs wouldn't put me off.

However i know people who have been put off properties simply by the colour of the curtains! If you need to sell your house and you are in competition with a lot of similar local ones then i'd get rid of the spiders webs.

When I bought my house it was filthy inside, dust and webs everywhere because the previous elderly owner couldn't keep it clean. I was able to negotiate a price reduction because of it, which was great since it was going to be redecorated anyway.
I was careful not to harm the spiders though, and put them out in the garden.

yeah if you are selling you have to clean them, scope them up with a cup and put them outside, they will find another home

Oysterbabe · 09/06/2016 18:01

I wouldn't buy a house full of spiders Sad

Sallyingforth · 09/06/2016 18:42

Good. That means a bigger choice for the rest of us :)

Are you selling your house because of the spiders? I don't like them but that seems extreme Smile
