You can use hot water on a flannel / cotton wool, and use as a compress. That might help you get some relief. Do a couple of times a day.

Junosmum · 08/06/2016 19:39

Steam the duck out of it. Had loads. Boiling water in a cup or thermos and hold your eye over the steam for as long as you can ( careful not to burn yourself) your eye can be closed.

Izzabellasasperella · 08/06/2016 20:16

Rub it with a gold ring, it really does work.

Wolfiefan · 08/06/2016 20:17

I do what Izzabella said.

TheDevilMadeMeDoIt · 08/06/2016 20:25

I pull out the hair (eyelash) in the middle with tweezers. Blush Bit of an ouch but then it's gone.

(Probably best left to the sporners Grin)

silvermantela · 08/06/2016 20:26

I use a hot teabag on it - sounds a bit mad but has all the advantages of a hot flannel or other compress but stays hotter a lot longer, plus the antitoxins in tea or whatever seem to have a good effect - any styes I've had have always gone much quicker since I started doing it!

TheTartOfAsgard · 08/06/2016 20:28

Salt water baths as hot as you can tolerate. Keep warm flannel held to eye for 20mins. Can do this as many times a day as you like. Will bring it to a head and help it drain quicker.

TheRollingCrone · 08/06/2016 20:30

What Devil said. But you do have to get the EXACT eyelash that's infected.

DreamingofItaly · 08/06/2016 21:50

I've always rubbed a silver ring on a stye and it really does work to relieve it.

Hassled · 08/06/2016 21:52

Golden Eye ointment works a treat. Greasy and horrible but it does the job.

PiranhaBrothers · 08/06/2016 21:55

Also agree with plucking the eyelash out -and post pictures of the aftermath-

PiranhaBrothers · 08/06/2016 21:56

bastard non-working strikethrough

hollinhurst84 · 08/06/2016 22:04

I had one last week that was insanely sore and actually covering my pupil when I looked to the side. Had enough so I stuck a needle in it, slathered it with golden eye and went to bed. Appears to have gone

RaeSkywalker · 08/06/2016 22:11

Golden Eye is the way forward.

ProcrastinatorGeneral · 08/06/2016 22:48

Another one who just yoinks the eyelash if it's on the lash line. Lots of heat if it's not so it opens the pores up. The teabag suggestion is a sound one, just make sure it's not too scalding.

weaselwatcher · 08/06/2016 22:52

I've tried hot flannel, teabag, it hurts!!!
It's up and under my left eyelid, irritating thing! Will have to hunt out this magic you're all rating if I don't wake up sty free!

Keep going with the hot flannel. I had one and my eye and face was really swollen. I kept doing hot compresses, mixed with gently massaging the area under my eye (I ran my finger along it with slight pressure) did this and it burst after a whole and quickly returned to normal :)
