To think MN should go on a school trip to Blackpool?

We should have a school trip out, all MNers invited. And Blackpool would be the perfect place. Cheap wine and gin, and plenty of greasy food for us all to enjoy, and then tut about afterwards.

Blackpool is ace!! I prefer it to SkeggyVegas anyway... Although my favourite seaside place is Dorset in particular, Weymouth!

ThePebbleCollector · 06/06/2016 14:18

Haha I remember my school trips to Blackpool... never involved alcohol. I went there yesterday, and my bigger summer holiday this year is 5 nights in blackpool with our toddler.... living the high life haha..

Where do I put my name down??

I want wine, a slogan t shirt, some rock, donuts and a game of bingo.

I shall also bring the obligatory bag of 2ps.

I shall tut about the 2p machines giving me tickets instead of a big bloody pay out! Also I bought a pair of shoes there yesterday and they got knicked off the pram.. booo.

:D

insancerre · 06/06/2016 14:18

Not much of a trip for me, I'm in st Anne's

squoosh · 06/06/2016 14:20

I've misplaced my union jack shorts and vest so I don't think I'll be able to make it.

notamummy10 · 06/06/2016 14:20

But I'd come... Would it be a day trip or an overnighter? It takes me around 3 1/2 hours each way by train!

carryam · 06/06/2016 14:21

I didn't know they give you tickets now instead of a big 2p payout. I would complain in AIBU for days after the trip about that.

Count me in I had a great time in the tower last time I went.

MidnightAura · 06/06/2016 14:25

I would go! Well providing we can go to the Pleasure Beach!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 06/06/2016 14:28

I'll go to the Pleasure Beach.

carryam · 06/06/2016 14:30

I was expecting lots of YABU as Blackpool is awful.

Now wondering if maybe we should really go?

Coral island are hell for it! there's only a specific area that still gives you cold hard cash... you've gotta watch out for it!!

Oh and I forgot, the Camel races, we need to do that!

Shut up. I love Blackpool!

notamummy10 · 06/06/2016 14:33

I would genuinely come if there was one though... Also my tolerance towards children is getting better (I got broody yesterday at the cute babies in town).

carryam · 06/06/2016 14:35

I used to go to Blackpool but haven't been for years. I have spent many hours in the Tower Ballroom watching the dancing and listening to the organ.

cozietoesie · 06/06/2016 14:44

I've never been to Blackpool. Sad

carryam · 06/06/2016 14:56

Well about time you did.

I'd go. I'm only down the road so we go often enough. I'd still go. Last time we went DD (2) convinced herself she was cinderelly because we had a ride in a princess carriage down the prom. Grin

x2boys · 06/06/2016 15:06

I,m in bolton so only an hour or so away i used to know really cheap b and b where you could get rooms for about 20quid a night Grin

IABVU · 06/06/2016 16:21

Couldn't imagine anything worse.

Whaaat. The 2 p machines don't pay money out any more Shock. YABU for that alone. DP and I always make sure we have an annual 'day at the seaside' but we usually go to Filey or somewhere else on the east coast and always go in the arcades to play air hockey and the 2 p pushy things, which have always paid money out as far as I know.

But then Filey is known to be a more genteel, old fashioned resort, so maybe hasn't caught up with these modern ways.

I'd quite like to see the Blackpool Illuminations though, as I've only ever been once and it has to be at least 30 years ago.

Nothing will get me to Blackpool.

Nothing!

Lelloteddy · 06/06/2016 17:49

Cozietoesie lucky you Wink

CaveMum · 06/06/2016 17:55

Weston Super Mare as an alternative southern venue? I spent many a misspent Youth Club visit on the Pier there and eating chips in the minibus on the way home to Bristol Grin
