to ask how much money you have in the bank

I don't really talk about money to anyone in real life, other than my DM and DP.

I'm being nosy, I know but a few numbers aren't going to out me!

I get paid on Friday so I currently I have £5.54 in my account and £15k locked away in ISA's and Bonds.

How much do you have in the bank?

we have between us what seems like a hefty sum until we figure out how many years this would last at our current salaries if we had no jobs, then it's a bit depressing Sad

TwuntingCat · 01/06/2016 16:15

£170 in current account, £1800 in savings but £600 of that is going on car insurance tomorrow Sad

lanbro · 01/06/2016 16:18

15k across an USA each, a couple of thousand in each current account and about 7k in the house Blush

lanbro · 01/06/2016 16:19

ISA not USA!

TheWeeBabySeamus1 · 01/06/2016 16:19

31p ( no overdraft ) and £5.60 in change. £140.00 in credit union savings that (luckily) can't be touched until my loan is paid back.

stumblymonkey · 01/06/2016 16:33

Main account is languishing well into its overdraft as it always is.

I have around £20k in savings currently. About to add another £32k from redundancy. Hoping to put down a £100k deposit on a family home in a couple of years.

mizuzu · 01/06/2016 16:34

like £200 all together

A huge amount.

YaySirNaySir · 01/06/2016 17:33

About £40k in easy access rest in investments.

tinyshinyanddon · 01/06/2016 17:44

About $400 because the mortgage just came out, but we get paid tomorrow and Friday. $10000 in savings account when our current house project is finished. Some other stocks, shares, retirement etc.

MsJamieFraser · 01/06/2016 17:47

A lot, but I hate talking money to strangers or even close relatives, it always sounds so crass.

HighDataUsage · 01/06/2016 17:47

Zero

travellinglighter · 01/06/2016 17:55

I have £1100 in my current account, I was paid on Thursday and all bar £100 of my direct debits have gone out. I have £1263 in my savings, a share save account with £1200 and about £15000 in shares that I can’t really access without incurring a whopping great tax bill.

My savings bounces between nothing and a couple of thousand but my ambition is to have 3 months wages in the bank. (Never going to happen).

DraenorQueen · 01/06/2016 17:59

Went on a work night out last night genuinely don't dare check my current account until all my Direct Debits have gone out Sad
Got £12k in my ISA which will be leaving tomorrow as it's a deposit on the house I'm buying. Then hello to extreme skintness!

limon · 01/06/2016 18:04

£2k in current, 4k in daughters saving, £3.5k in our savings, £600 in joint account, £3.5k in house renovation account. -£92k in mortgage account.

Pineapplemilkshake · 01/06/2016 18:22

£19000 in my ISA and £20000 in various accounts belonging to DS9. I have always saved for him even when I've been broke but may slow down now as he has more money than me!

HermioneJeanGranger · 01/06/2016 18:31

£440 in my current account.
£2158 and some change in my savings.
No credit card debt at the moment.

JeanGenie23 · 01/06/2016 18:39

Just shy of £4000 in my current account, no savings or ISAs but I have just cleared a big debt so what's left of that £4000 will be transferred over into saving acc (I will probably have around £1750 left)

Roomba · 01/06/2016 18:41

Just checked and I have £3.20 in my account to last until Monday. No savings, ISAs or similar - that's the lot! No overdraft available. Not great timing with it being half term, there's not much we can do out of the house but I've planned a few free activities and I've got some food in, just hope it lasts with DS1's gigantic appetite.

I don't have any credit cards, I do owe a massive amount of council tax but that's being paid off at £5 a week. Other than that, my mortgage (up to date) and my enormous gas/electric bill I don't owe anyone anything. I have avoided having prepayment meters put in due to DS1's diabetes (insulin has to be in fridge) so that's being paid off slowly.

It sucks but it could be a lot worse. We have our own roof over our head, don't have to live in awful rented housing, Jack Monroe's recipes mean we have enough food to eat usually, and we're all healthy, touch wood, so skint I can deal with as I'm used to it!

idontgiveafuck · 01/06/2016 18:43

Nothing much unfortunately Sad
Got paid yesterday and all bills came out today. I'm paying all my debts off super quick so I can buy a new car in 18 months and this gives my credit time to settle before I ask for a big car loan Wink

mamacien · 01/06/2016 18:50

Personally about £800 altogether. No idea about DP. No debts, a house and 2 cars! Sometimes it's nice to talk about what you have Grin

Stillwishihadabs · 01/06/2016 18:55

£1300 in current account, 10k in savings, £2000 in joint account. £250,000 equity in house.

greencoats · 01/06/2016 18:57

About £24k spread across current accounts, savings accounts, cash isas and other accessible accounts.

DH has about £55k in accessible accounts.

There's more in S&S ISAs and pensions etc but we don't think about those because it's meant to be untouched for decades.
