People swearing on buses

On bus. Dd next to me 3 years old. Woman shouting can you hear me on phone. Then she hangs up and starts swearing loudly to herself. My
DD is copying her actions as if she's talking on phone. AIBU to think it's highly unacceptable and disrespectful to swear like that in front of anybody not just children or am I just old fashioned!

I try to curb my actions/language around children but you were in a public place. It's going to happen. Not all people consider their actions/words in public.

NeedACleverNN · 25/05/2016 14:53

Just tell your Dd that it's naughty words and she shouldn't be using them

Gizlotsmum · 25/05/2016 14:54

I just used to tell my children that we don't use language like that because it makes you sound silly. ( we had V sweary neighbours, I may have said it loudly and they soon stopped if we were out)

I remember this exact thing happening when I was really young - my parents used to say it shows that these people have a lack of vocabulary!

YANBU op for expecting people to watch their language in front of children.

YANBU, it's common decency. Some people have a terrible lack of self awareness
