I applied for a new job. Application was to be in for Monday, and interviews are being held following Monday. I received a note to say my application has been received but nothing since. In an informal chat I was told that I was a great match so was hopeful for at least an interview. Is it unreasonable/pathetic for me to contact company to ask if they are letting unsuccessful applicants know because I feel sick waiting. If i get in touch what should I write.

I would just drop them and email and say "further to my application I was hoping to meet with you to discuss possible job opportunities. Would you please let me know if you have any time on Monday to meet? I enclose again my cv" or similar. Tbh, If you haven't heard from them it doesn't look great but on the off chance something has happened with your application then there's no harm in writing to them

Yeah I figured it probably wasn't great! Oh well.

Tbh, I'd leave it. You know your application has been received so there's no point in re-sending your CV. You could call HR I guess. Personally I would probably leave it though.
