7-7:30. Well where are you?

Invited over for dinner.
Yes I'll be there between 7 and 7:30.

7:30 comes and goes.
No texts.
No calls.

Sitting like idiots waiting for arrival.

Feel like throwing it at the wall.

Did they turn up eventually?

My main thought would be - are they OK?

If it was a date then I'd think I'd been stood up.

Did they show?

It's not a date luckily. I'm just dramatically musing hurling my lovingly prepared food out the window.

I wouldn't even make food though for the exact time. 7-7.30 means 7.30 is still on time. If they text just after saying on their way I assuming they only arrived 10-15 mins later?

For 7.30pm arrival, I would plan dinner to be ready around 8.15 to allow for a little latest from whatever and to arrive/ get a drink/ say hi etc. Arriving and having food within 2 mins feels very rushed

I get irritated by this kind of thing too. If someone says they'll turn up between 7 and 7.30, I'd start getting antsy at 7.30. But, as others have said, probably better to leave the food til a bit later - until people arrive, have a drink etc it'll be closer to 8 anyway.

If it was just me then I'd be OK but with small dc I do get irritated that I'm waiting around.

Should have popped some laxatives in their drinks/coffee
