To have a bottle of cider?

Single mum to 20 month old dd and obviously only me here with her. Would I be unreasonable to have one bottle of kopparberg with dinner or is it frowned upon to drink whilst in sole charge of a toddler?

If you're usually compos mentis after one drink, go for it. Cheers! Wine

Ipigglemustdie · 09/05/2016 16:33

Usually someone will be along soon to make you feel bad for even thinking about it. Yanbu to have a bottle or 2. Its only 4% I think

GingerPCatt · 09/05/2016 16:34

As long as it's not a 2liter bottle it'll be fine Grin

Pinkheart5915 · 09/05/2016 16:35

Go for it. Enjoy!
One bottle of cider is fine, that's hardly going to have you drunk.

WorraLiberty · 09/05/2016 16:37

You're an independent adult.

If you want a bottle of cider, just have it Confused

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/05/2016 16:39

YABU cider is minging, have a lager instead

springhasprung · 09/05/2016 16:42

It's a 330ml bottle so not even the size you'd get at the pub! This hot weather makes me crave kopparberg with lots of ice.

Unless you are one of these people who get drunk after one bottle, go for it. It's only 4% I think, so it is fine.

I really want an ice cold cider at a beer garden right now but everyone is busy :(

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 09/05/2016 16:55

I'm surprised you're asking on here! Confused But unless it's going to lead to a 24 hour cider binge I think you'll be fine!

LagunaBubbles · 09/05/2016 16:58

Im another one a bit puzzled why you need strangers to tell you if its ok to have a cider or not. Confused

whois · 09/05/2016 16:59

As long as you are still able to call a taxi / call 99 / other basic adult tasks after 1 bottle of cider.

My mum (passed away 3 years ago) was an alcoholic and always drank in front of me to the point where she'd pass out. The thought of doing that to dd terrifies me so I over think even the smallest amount of drinking. Sorry I know it's daft.

I read the thread title and my immediate thought process was "a 2 litre bottle of White Lightning? YABU. A Rekorderlig or two? YANBU" Mmmmm, passion fruit Rekorderlig Grin

I understand where you're coming from wrt your mum, but if you can enjoy a drink in moderation and know when to stop, that's far healthier behaviour to model to your DD. Enjoy your Kopparberg/s Smile
