To ask for a refund of delivery charge

Our internet shopping delivery was over an hour late. Driver rang and was apologetic, it was fine we weren't relying on anything.

But I will admit it rankled a little to spend money on a delivery charge for something which was late.

Would you ask for a refund in those circumstances? Don't know if I'm BU or not.

My grocery delivery charge is refunded automatically if it's even a minute late. So on that basis YANBU.

Beeziekn33ze · 08/05/2016 15:13

Tell manager you'd expect free delivery of your next order.

lornathewizzard · 08/05/2016 15:13

No harm in asking for sure.

Ilovewillow · 08/05/2016 15:16

Worth asking particularly as some delivery slots are more expensive than others!

Tribblewithoutacause · 08/05/2016 15:21

Fair enough, I'm going to email, it wasn't a cheap slot by any stretch.

I mean compared to the £1 ones that Tescos or Sainsbo do. Didn't meant to sound boastful, wasn't my intention at all Blush.

Iv had this with Asia and they told me allow 90mins before they would consider a refund.

I don't use them now very often!

Ginkypig · 08/05/2016 15:29

Haha asda not Asia!

purplefizz26 · 08/05/2016 15:30

Yanbu

Asda take the piss with this.

They were so late once, that I had paid £6.00 for a slot and received it during a £2.50 slot Angry

purplefizz26 · 08/05/2016 15:32

Having said that, they are reasonable with refunds, delivery passes and gift vouchers after fucking up!

JennyOnAPlate · 08/05/2016 20:34

We use sainsburys and the last time they were late (probably a good 5 years ago !) we got an automatic refund of the delivery charge plus a £10 voucher. Yanbu.
