I've just measured my carry on case with a ruler and its 1-2cm over the width restriction, not that it makes a difference but under in all other areas, just wondering if anyone knows if those measuring boxes they have at check in are exactly right? It a hard shell case so I don't think it would squish.

They didn't put ours in one. Wouldn't have fitted if they had!

Check the weight of the case too. Only time I've flown TC the carry on limit was only 6 kg which is less than most other airlines. I only had a small rucksack but it was still too heavy but I got round the issue by putting my phone, kindle and purse in my coat pocket until I had finished at the desk.

You might find it easier taking a smaller bag because you are unlikely to be able to put much in a hard case which tend to weigh 2-3 kg even when empty.

Thanks, yes it is 6kg, it's a super lightweight hard case one which is why I'd like to take it, I do have a smaller case (but heavier) case I can take instead so may just do that or possibly not even bother with a mini suitcase as we're shearing a hold case and I think we can probably fit all in anyway, but it just seems a waste of my new lovely case.

I took an over size and over weight bag, they didnt check it. Cabin crew put it up up in overhead for me with an "oof, this weighs a tonne!" too Grin
