We're buying a house and it has a conservatory, but I don't know what to do with it?! What do you use yours for?

Everything! I am sitting in it right now.

Bearbehind · 05/05/2016 20:15
Hmm

Your options are limited as I'm guessing neighbours might object to it being a bedroom.

Extra lounge/ dining area/ playroom dependant on which direction it faces and how hot it gets.

Wetbankhols · 05/05/2016 20:16

Smoking weed with your mates ... Oh no hang on, that's my brother! Grin

Our cat used to use it to COOK in the summer!

It's just like a summer lounge though.

FranHastings · 05/05/2016 20:16

Storing junk mostly Confused. It's a shame. It's too cold for 9 months of the year and too hot for the other 3. I'd re-do it if we had the money.

HonniBee · 05/05/2016 20:17

I use mine for afternoon naps at the moment. But I'm 37 weeks pregnant so I have a feeling that might change soon...

ghostyslovesheep · 05/05/2016 20:17

it's my youngest DD's play room

LifeIsChaos · 05/05/2016 20:18

Playroom

Skittlesss · 05/05/2016 20:18

Hmm, playroom is a good idea :)

I guess it is a bit random to ask. The house currently has a big sofa and chair in it so was a bit squashed up.

ChablisTyrant · 05/05/2016 20:19

Playroom. Spend more time there than any other room, but it is a very expensive wooden framed, double glazed number with fans, ceiling hatches and decent heating.

Same as Fran, uncomfortably hot in the summer and freezing in the winter at our old house.it got hot enough one summer that it melted my wellies that were stored, and we had to stop keeping the coat stand in there because they all got sum bleached.

We used it as somewhere to dry the dog and keep our muddy boots, and moved the rabbit hutch in there in the winter.

Moving15 · 05/05/2016 20:21

First we used it as a cat room. Now we store piles of tools in there. Eventually I will use it for plants and sitting

Skittlesss · 05/05/2016 20:24

That looks nice ghosty :)

Think we will try it as a playroom when we move in and see what it's like in winter. It's in a good position for sun so reckon it'll be hot. Maybe I'll put my work computer in there for my work at home days.

Playroom here too. Although we also have a sofa in there so we can sit out there on a nice evening

Whyhellodaffodil · 05/05/2016 20:25

Drying washing mostly!

CaptainCallisto · 05/05/2016 20:28

We've just bought a house with a conservatory and the plan is for it to be a playroom.

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 05/05/2016 20:48

Yup, drying washing in summer, it's like an oven.

Some of the kids' toys are stored in there, they are a bit more hardy about braving it when it's bloody freezing (ie all non-summer months).

junebirthdaygirl · 05/05/2016 20:52

Summer living room. Love it. Sitting in it at the moment as lovely evening. Dd lying on opposite couch reading. We also have table in ours for crafts jigsaws etc so don't have to be moved at dinner. Use other living room in winter with TV and open fire.

wobblywonderwoman · 05/05/2016 20:55

playroom. love it as it is eye view from the kitchen so it's very handy for me and my crazy dc Grin

Bambooshoots14 · 05/05/2016 21:08

Playroom here too

dairymilkmonster · 05/05/2016 21:11

playroom!

Gide · 05/05/2016 21:13

Cat's sanctuary-they had a cat flap and the dogs couldn't get in. Currently it's the DH's dumping ground.

TeenAndTween · 05/05/2016 21:13

When DD2 was younger it was a playroom.

Now it is being turned into a social space, with TV/DVD player to be added. For both teens and adults to use.

Also a quiet place to read the Sunday papers.

SouthDownsSunshine · 05/05/2016 21:13

Junk mainly. I am lobbying my husband to get it demolished but to no effect.

Mamadothehump · 05/05/2016 21:14

Playroom here too!! Love it. Saves all their shit taking over everywhere.
