To think my friend is attention seeking?

I just noticed a Facebook post stating "It really annoys me that people never commented on or like my statuses. So rude! From now on, if you don't communicate with me on here then I'm deleting you." This was followed by another post 'checking in' to her local hospital, giving second by second updates of her child hurting it's leg. There was once even a status about her child accidentally taking some medication and her asking for advice, rather than calling a doctor.

I go on Facebook once a week for 20 minutes usually - I like reading her updates most of the time, but my gosh she doesn't half post some nonsense and she has deleted me in the past because I haven't liked enough of her posts, even though I barely go on there.

Does anyone else have friends like this? Hmm

I would ignore. But keep these type of FB friends for the entertainment value. Along with the vaugebooking, PA minion quote posters and airing of the dirty laundry posters. I don't think I am alone as other people I know do it for the same reasons. There is something intriguing about FB that turns totally nice and decent people into complete dicks. I have a boring life

I had a fb friend (daughter of a colleague.... don't ask me how this happened.... I felt it was rude to ignore her friemd request Hmm ) who posts shit like that. I just laugh. Like me, she is in her 40s, so ought to be slightly more grown up really.

Definitely attention seeking and more than a little pathetic. Let her delete you. My fb friend deleted me for similar reasons. I have managed to get on with my life never-the-less.

So she's deleted you in the past for the most ridiculous and needy of reasons and then what? Did she send you another friend request? And you accepted? Shock Why? I couldn't bear to have to look at that shit ever - not once a week, not once a year. Why do you do it to yourself?

I have friends on facebook a bit like that.. The 10000 updates on whats going on in their lives. None of them have ever deleted me or threatened too I like or comment occasionally if I feel it is relevant but usually I just get on with what I want facebook to provide for me.

My ex friend is prone to this sort of online behaviour, and takes grave offense to people who don't mollycoddle her enough throughout her numerous (very minor) life crises. She will also delete people who have the temerity to stay friends with those friends.

Rather hilariously though, she won't delete the offenders - she just creates a new profile, just for her 'true' friends, but keeps the old one so she can still snoop and see if they're talking about her and find something else to get offended about accordingly. Even if a status or comment ISN'T about her, she'll assume it is and start screenshotting and whining on her new profile. It takes misery narcissism to a whole new level, really.

Totally bizarre behaviour, but I think that facebook can be very toxic at times. I tend to ignore the majority of it and just comment on people that are really genuine, or the silly me me things that do make me laugh ( the harmless ones) it can cause all manner of problems.

Generally, I 'like' things that interest me, or that are nice- baby announcements, etc. Maybe her posts aren't nice or interesting? I'd delete her to be honest.

No. I don't have friends like this. And my FB account only has people that I know in real life as friends on it.

Admittedly, I haven't seen some people for several years, but that is because some of us live in different countries now.

Just unfriend and block her, she sounds like a drama queen.
I haven't been on FB for 3 weeks and I know that there will be loads of notifications and updates to read. But nobody makes an issue of it. I like time away from social media and they know that.

Until the last week or two, I haven't even been on here since last year.

I really love Scoobius Pip but his Instagram is super irritating. Every so often he'll post to complain that one of his posts didn't get enough likes compared to others and he's worked really hard on them so people should appreciate more Hmm. It really puts me off him which is a shame because I love his music...

Friends wise I did have one friend that posted a photo and then commented underneath the next day "fine then, nobody like it! At least I know where I stand with you guys now." I howled and unfriended.

i use FB to keep up to date with my friends, i 'like' their creations (even if they look like shit)

I had a friend like this.Its like those cryptic posts that usually are along the lines of, "People are just arseholes" and the like, cue several "Whats up hun" messages, met with the reply of "I'll PM you." Either air the dirty laundry or dont, attention seeking twat.

Add to this, the FB folk who post the passive aggressive status's that then have their friends saying "whats up hun?" to get a reply of "I'll PM you, too many nosey people on here".

Ha! I had a weird post appear on my wall a couple of weeks ago from an old school friend (who I wasn't really that friendly with even at school) saying something like "Hi, I just wanted to appear on your wall so you could see that when you deleted my other page you forgot to delete this one - now you know that I know"

Very very strange behaviour.

Only fools, it is a weird thing - you either say whats wrong or you keep quiet. its easy really. I am just glad none of this was around when I was younger - its a wonder we all survived.

I've never responded to any of those 'if you're my real friend you'll like/comment or get deleted' twatterys posts and yet I have never been deleted.
I don't like idle threats.
Facebook friends really are friends in the loosest sense of the word.

I have friends like this.I found it easily dealt with: unlike her on Facebook then her messages won't appear in your newsfeed. I have unliked most of my Facebook 'friends' who are prolific status updaters. Now i only get to see posts from people who say things I'm interested in.

Let her delete you and then block her so she can't send you a friend request in future?
Somebody on my friend list on FB has M/H problems and she periodically drops me (and others) off her friend list when she's having a bad time. It gets a bit wearing and I sometimes think I won't accept her request but it seems wrong not to in her situation.
