I updated my profile pic this morning and a man I don't know has shared it to his page ( we have 2 mutual friends) why would he do this?

liinyo · 26/04/2016 10:40

Because He luurves you?

dlwelly · 26/04/2016 10:40

Maybe he tried to press like and accidentally shared it! Although he would have to hit 2 buttons to share it...

FarrowandBallAche · 26/04/2016 10:46

Have you been hacked?

SaucyJack · 26/04/2016 10:48

Was it just a standard pic of your face?

ElsaAintAsColdAsMe · 26/04/2016 10:49

When I had fb my kids would often get hold of my phone and share things, like things, friend request people etc.

Clandestino · 26/04/2016 10:53

Check your settings and who can share stuff you posted.

footballcrazy11 · 26/04/2016 10:53

Don't think I have been hacked and he is too old to have little ones I think!

Ok Clandestino will check that. I am not too fussed I just think it's a strange thing to do

It's very easy to hit share by mistake especially on phone. If one of your mutual friends liked it it would show on his news feed.

WorraLiberty · 26/04/2016 10:56

You can instantly remove it from his page but blocking him.

WorraLiberty · 26/04/2016 10:56

by blocking him

UmbongoUnchained · 26/04/2016 10:59

I share stuff all the time by accident when I'm scrolling on my phone and accidentally tap too hard!

RudeElf · 26/04/2016 11:00

Is it a photo of you? Or a meme?

liquidrevolution · 26/04/2016 11:00

does he have a toddler??

MatthewWrightResearch · 26/04/2016 11:03

When you change your profile pic, change the settings to "friends" as profile changes are public otherwise. If it's a photo of you I'd be tempted to ask him why he shared but it's more than likely he's did it by accident.

LunaLoveg00d · 26/04/2016 11:06

My dad does this all of the time as he is technically illiterate and can't use his lap top properly.

FarrowandBallAche · 26/04/2016 11:06

I bet he hasn't shared it and that it's something weird going on with FB or you have been hacked.

I commented on a friends status the other day but it came up as if another friend had commented and not me. She isn't friends with the person whose stays I commented on.

I've changed my password since.

badtime · 26/04/2016 11:10

Sometimes I do this if my phone is acting up. He probably doesn't even realise he has done it.

footballcrazy11 · 26/04/2016 11:15

Seems perfectly innocent then I guess it was an accident

OP posts:
footballcrazy11 · 26/04/2016 11:16

RudeElf it is a photo of me

OP posts:
314inTheSky · 26/04/2016 11:18

BY accident I bet. I'm in a private group and i was on my phone once and i very nearly shared all the photos to my main page. I would have died. I was pressing back back back furiously. Nearly died.
I've also shared some thing I didn't intend to, not as embarrassing but I'm sure people thought 'whaaaat?' and 'eh why'

Stillunexpected · 26/04/2016 11:25

Or it could be someone who really doesn't understand how FB works. I have a college friend who likes a lot of my stuff but who has also shared loads of my posts, things like family gathering pics, status updates of no interest to the wider world etc. We have a lot of mutual friends who are therefore presumably seeing my stuff twice and his friends who are seeing pics of some random person's holiday or Scout parade via him. I'm not bothered by it particularly but more bemused that he has so little understanding of what sharing means.

FarrowandBallAche · 26/04/2016 11:48

If it was an accident he would have removed it surely? Can you ask one of your friends if it's still there?

I still think he didn't share it.

I've been liking things on FB this week according to one of my friends that I certainly have not liked!

99percentchocolate · 26/04/2016 11:52

Ooh this reminds me of the time I accidentally stumbled on a Twitter account that was reposting everything I'd written as if they'd written it - only my account, no one else's and only messages which featured my DP. Very odd!

BertieBeats · 26/04/2016 11:56

My neighbour shared a selfie of me the other month which I found slightly odd until I noticed she'd deleted it in evening. No doubt she didn't realise she'd done it until her kids mentioned it. But disappointed it didn't get any likes though Grin
