Singers on BGT? (lighthearted !)

I appreciate children, choirs and impressions through the method of song or anything remotely comical but does anyone else have an internal (sometimes out loud) groan when your bog standard male/female/group singers come on BGT?

I tend to watch to see what new and interesting things people can do and honestly I just feel the time and place for serious singing is X factor or The Voice - unless said singers have an undying urge to perform for the queen above jump starting a singing career! I do appreciate their talent but would prefer to see a cartwheeling rabbit !

Anyone else feel the same ?

Ps..just a light hearted winge!!!

Yes I said exactly this the other day. I can understand classical singers. Children, choirs etc but as you say bog standard male/female singers have other platforms. I did like the Welsh lady but don't want her to go through because of her penchant for wearing white ankle socks! Shock

I always imagine they have failed to get onto X Factor or The Voice.

I don't see why they have singers on BGT, surely there are enough singing shows for them? BGT I thought was for the variety type acts, dancing dogs etc?
