to think tuna cans are the wrong size?

Is it just me? Tuna cans are two big for one person (1 sandwich) but too small for 2. Not a biggie in the grand scheme of things but I've pondered it today.

I buy those mini ones that come in packs of 3- ideal for one portion

PurpleDaisies · 16/04/2016 19:41

I just eat the tuna without the sandwich bit. Big squirt of sweet chilli sauce and eat it straight from the tin.

AuntieStella · 16/04/2016 19:41

Why doesn't tuna come in cans with ring pulls?

(And is the Tuna family still flourishing?)

dingit · 16/04/2016 19:42

No, my cat enjoys the leftovers Smile

ScarlettDarling · 16/04/2016 20:09

AuntieStella tuna does come in cans with ring pulls.

Don't know about the tuna family though!

AuntieStella · 16/04/2016 20:18

Mine didn't! (Waitrose own label)

I really had to fossick to the back of a drawer to find a can opener. Not a pleasant experience, I'll have you know!

AliceInUnderpants · 16/04/2016 20:18

I just make two sandwiches Wink

is a fat bitch

Lilaclily · 16/04/2016 20:20

Aren't there still big and little tins ?

PPie10 · 16/04/2016 20:21

It's more than enough for two people thoughConfused

emwithme · 16/04/2016 20:49

YY...two cans is perfect for 3 servings (so I make up three portions of tuna pasta salad for lunch in one go). Half-sized cans are too small.

BarbaraofSeville · 16/04/2016 20:54

You can get tuna in ring pull cans but it's a lot harder to drain properly.

Jaimx86 · 16/04/2016 20:54

Eat a regular can for lunch every day. Would like a twiddly bit more in tbh.

PPie10 · 16/04/2016 21:11

Barbara you need to pull the ring back but not completely remove the cover, then press down firmly for a few seconds with the can tipped over. It drains perfectly.

Floggingmolly · 16/04/2016 21:12

You can get tiny tins.

x2boys · 16/04/2016 22:04

Um I made one tuna and mayo sandwich with one yesterday Blush

FinallyFreeFromItAll · 16/04/2016 22:19

I prefer to think of them as making a deliciously generous tuna sandwich

Me too Grin

Or it makes enough tuna mayo pasta for 2

cornishglos · 16/04/2016 22:31

Soup cans... are they for one person or two?

Floggingmolly · 16/04/2016 23:01

One!!

CoffeeCoffeeAndLotsOfIt · 16/04/2016 23:04

I like sainsburys own mini tins in a pack of three. Tuna in olive oil - yum yum

MaidOfStars · 16/04/2016 23:30

My husband always has one of the small cans in a sandwich. Is this too much?

thenightsky · 16/04/2016 23:34

Depends on whether contents of the tin are 'tuna flakes' or 'tuna steak'.

Steak is more tuna crammed into a smaller tin and therefore better value.

I've studied this, obv.

Ohsotired123 · 17/04/2016 00:06

Perfect for you and to give a bit to the cat Smile

FinallyFreeFromItAll · 17/04/2016 00:19

Soup cans... are they for one person or two?

I think most people have 1 to themselves however I've always thought they were 1.5 portion size and the smaller tins 1person.
