To think it's not fair men don't wee themselves when they cough?

Or anyone with a super pelvic floor! Just a moan really. I've had a cough for 3 weeks, confirmed as bloody pneumonia by docs on Thursday and hefty dose of penicillin prescribed, and am sick of coughing until a bit of wee comes out SadBlush. My pelvic floor is not too bad after DD, but it can't cope with 3 weeks of coughing, I've taken to having to wear bloody reusable pads (but I've only got 4 and as a mooncup user I don't have anything else) or stuff toilet roll in my pants so I don't have to change my underwear every hour! Aggghh, please tell me I'm not the only one putting up with this shit, I can't even drink Wine!!! The only thing to be grateful for is I'm signed off work till Friday but DH works Monday and nursery shut Tuesday so I've got 2 days of sticking DD in front of the tv looking after dd alone :( boo hoo I'm rubbish at being unwell!

Aww that sounds awful. Feel better soon Thanks

Some men absolutely do pee when they cough.

ivykaty44 · 26/03/2016 16:07

Lots of men wet the bed when they stay in hotels

Cumberlover76 · 26/03/2016 16:09

DH doesn't and tried to hide a smile when I told him. He always finds it funny iif I wee myself, I don't mind as sometimes it is funny, I think I'll let DD go and piss on his side of the bed! No, love him really Grin he's been looking after me very well!

I don't wee myself when I cough Confused what's that about ?

MrsMook · 26/03/2016 16:11

I'd get some Tena until you're feeling better. The female pelvic floor definitely has its design faults. Mine objects to impact exercise since DS2 was evicted in a hurry with forceps.

There are apps to help with exercises to strengthen it up, but it does seem difficult to strengthen it to fool proof levels.

WorraLiberty · 26/03/2016 16:13

Lottie as the OP explained, it's about her pelvic floor muscles.

Cumberlover76 · 26/03/2016 16:15

DH will love it if I send him to the shop to buy some tena! So going to do it!

I'm generally OK as was religious with exercises throughout pregnancy and after and do yoga and Pilates but 3 weeks of coughing is too much, oh and trampolining/jumping on a bouncy castle when drunk can be touch and go!

Lottie2611 · 26/03/2016 16:20

I didn't know that could happen . Get well soon

Junosmum · 26/03/2016 16:21

I have an appointment with the gynae team in 6 weeks due to damage to pf muscle from delivery 3months ago. I pee a LOT when I run, dance, climb stairs, wash the pots. But strangely, not when I cough. But I feel you.

MakeItRain · 26/03/2016 16:21

Lottie just be very glad you don't belong to the "weeing when you sneeze/cough/trampoline" club. SadSad

acasualobserver · 26/03/2016 16:38

Lots of men wet the bed when they stay in hotels

Really? Why in hotels when, I'm assuming, they are not usually bed-wetters?

flingingmelon · 26/03/2016 16:43

Sympathy OP ThanksBrew

Like some PP's I've always been fine, right up until I did some skipping at the gym. Never again Sad

TiredOfSleep · 26/03/2016 16:45

I'm part of this club! It has to be quite a nasty cough though. Just fabulous when you're feeling rough anyway!

RudeElf · 26/03/2016 16:45

I'm guessing Ivy works in hotels in some capacity so only knows about what they do in hotels. They could well pee the bed at home too, just that she doesnt have access to their beds at home. Or maybe they just pee in hotels Grin

Seryph · 26/03/2016 16:49

I'm dreading the result of DC, between my dyspraxia and hypermobility I'm already screwed after two drinks/a large glass of water plus any amount of impact/laughing.

kiwiquest · 26/03/2016 16:49

Lottie have you had a baby?? I'm guessing possibly not or you're just one of the lucky few. The damage I sustained during DD birth has ruined me. OP massive sympathy, I've had cold cough for last two weeks and hands down this has been worst part, so demoralising. Sad Flowers

Herewegoagainfolks · 26/03/2016 16:49

Lottie have you never noticed that it's generally only men who have a go on the children's trampoline? The women all politely stand watching.

RudeElf · 26/03/2016 16:53

I havent been on a trampoline since one day 10 years ago when DS1 was around 6 months old. Embarrassing lesson learned. Blush

NeedsAsockamnesty · 26/03/2016 17:09

When your cough has gone talk to your GP about obtaining a pelvic floor timer on perscription they are really very good

FayKorgasm · 26/03/2016 17:13

My pelvic floor was relativly fine even after four dc until menopause. Now straightening the rug with one foot can cause a dribble.

starry0ne · 26/03/2016 17:16

I am in same boat at the mo..Cough is improving...By evening neeed a Tena...Seems to get worse as day goes on

SheDoneAlreadyDoneHadHerses · 26/03/2016 17:23

I had the same thing when I recently had flu. Was on bloody holiday as well.

Was not fecking fun..............

LadyDeadpool · 26/03/2016 17:23

Mines at its worst if I vomit Sad Had Norovirus and thoroughly pissed the bed while vomiting up everything in my stomach several times and to make things even better I couldn't even move to have a shower.

Fratelli · 26/03/2016 17:23

It is unfair. Although as a carer I must say that this does in fact happen to plenty of men in their later years.
