Yabu! The joy of JW is that she gives her young girl characters an assertive voice. That they are able to speak their mind without succumbing to outdated ideas about children (and especially girls) being seen but not heard.

Equally as bad is Tracy Beaker which gives such a unrealistic view of being in care.

Ugh TB - but I think we are meant to dislike her yet as adults understand her. Hetty on the other hand is just annoying. She's also identical to the Lottie Project. JW doesn't half recycle characters, I've never known an author as bad for it!
