It's my 30th this weekend and me and my best friend were meant to be going out to celebrate. She went away this weekend and has now said she can't afford to come now. I feel absolutely crap now and upset. Am I being unreasonable?.

No, YANBU. My best friend did this to me last year.

Incidentally, following months of her taking the piss, we are no longer friends.

Any chance there's a party being prep'd on the sly?

curren · 14/03/2016 19:25

Oh that's so shit. Yanbu.

My sil does this. Found myself sat in the cinema with all her friends (who I barely know) because we pre booked the tickets and she decided not to come.

Happens 95% of the time we would arrange something, I don't arrange anything with her now.

Your situation is especially upsetting as its your birthday. Thanks

YANBU to be upset.

Can you go out with another friend or try and rearrange another weekend with best friend?
