Internet order - returns on sale items

AIBU to think that you should/can get a refund on a purchase of goods on the internet after 14 days, regardless of whether the item was full price or on sale?

Buying from a website, and I've just noticed they said 'Please note that we are unable to refund sale items or purchases under voucher/gift code but we can exchange it to the value of the item at sale price'

That's incorrect isn't it, or aibu? Any lawyers on?!

Any refund policy for 'change of mind' is optional and up to the retailer so they are correct i'm afraid, that's in stores though so unless online is different rules?

You have a right to cancel the order within 14 days.

After 14 days? No, I think you have 14 days in which to tell them and another 14 days to return it. If you haven't told them within 14 days then they don't have to give you anything back, unless faulty, IIRC.

Here's the key but from the article...

1. Almost all goods bought online can be cancelled. Unlike buying in-store, buy online and you do have an absolute right to cancel. The key exceptions, though, are personalised and perishable goods.
2. You've up to 28 days after DELIVERY to return goods. That's 14 days to cancel and 14 days after cancellation to return.
3. The refund is for the goods AND delivery charge. Though if you chose faster delivery you only get the basic cost back.
4. You aren't entitled to the cost of sending the goods back. So beware if ordering from elsewhere in the European Union as returning them can be expensive.
5. If goods are faulty you are then entitled to reasonable costs of return back. In this case the Consumer Rights Act comes into play.
