Can I put this in my dishwasher?

DS uses a plastic mothercare booster seat at the table (secures to full size chair with straps). It's a little dirty, and in parts I can't really reach. Can I put it in the dishwasher?

AIBU to also ask for the weirdest thing you've put in your dishwasher?

I'd think it would be fine. I've cooked a salmon in a dishwasher.

Yes, I put mine in all the time. Tray thing, not salmon!!!!

scribblegirl · 03/03/2016 18:17

You can make flavoured vodka in a dishwasher Wink

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 03/03/2016 18:18

I should think that could go in, yes.

And weirdest thing I've put in is probably dishwasher vodka Grin

OhShutUpThomas · 03/03/2016 18:18

I've always wanted to ask this.

WHY OH WHY would you cook a salmon in the dishwasher!??

It's so quick and easy in the oven!

icanteven · 03/03/2016 18:20

I only came on to this thread to say that some people cook salmon in there, so whatever it is you have can't be too weird! :)

StandoutMop · 03/03/2016 18:21

This is mumsnet, people on here put loo seats and dog bowls in the dishwasher. A booster seat is practically normal by MN standards I think only ever used mine for dishes dull emoticon

molyholy · 03/03/2016 18:21

Dishwasher vodka!

CantChoose · 03/03/2016 18:25

I saw someone cook a lasagne in one on tv... :s

acasualobserver · 03/03/2016 18:26

I would like to cook a salmon in my dishwasher just for a laugh. Do I wrap the salmon in foil? What setting should I use?

lalalonglegs · 03/03/2016 18:31

Yes, wrap it tightly in foil and put it on the long program - it came out very nicely but this was a while ago before eco-washers so it maybe got a bit hotter than nowadays. I don't know why people would do it in real life, I did it for an article when I was a journo - a friend had to cook a turkey under a car bonnet...

SnuffleGruntSnorter · 03/03/2016 18:40

I put my antilop high chair in when it's more grotty than a quick wipe clean.

Weirdest thing - the grease filters on the extractor fan. Everything goes in our dishwasher though (except the toilet seat)

TrinityForce · 03/03/2016 18:47

What the fuck is dishwasher salmon?

Is it like Chandlers palmolive potatoes?

Nah

That's just not what you do with a dishwasher

Oncandystripedlegs · 03/03/2016 18:48

I have one of those chairs .... I put it in with straps on and done up....comes up lovely!

FigMango1 · 03/03/2016 18:49

Salmon in dishwasher Shock
GROSS!!!

MyLocal · 03/03/2016 18:50

Toothbrushes and glass chandeliers are my strangest things

CatchIt · 03/03/2016 18:52

I put my horses bits (as in from the bridle - not his willy! Grin) in the dishwasher, and sometimes my stirrups too. Don't tell DH though! Smile

scarednoob · 03/03/2016 18:53

My old boss had very hard skin on his feet. He used an industrial sander on them Hmm

Then put the bits of the sander IN THE OFFICE DISHWASHER Shock

then wondered why we all went mad Confused

HardleyWorthit · 03/03/2016 18:58

I put dc1's IKEA Antilop high chair in mine- tray and all. Came out sparkling which was just as well as it was minging after festering in the attic for a couple of years.

HardleyWorthit · 03/03/2016 18:59

Xpost with snuffle

shrubbery · 03/03/2016 19:02

Shoes and bits of chicken housing - came out like new.
(I didn't put any normal stuff in at the same time).

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 03/03/2016 19:04

I saw that show Cantchoose

Extreme Cheapsakes.

She was asking for seriously out of date meat for the lasagne and then decided to get a pound of fat to bulk it out! Envy

acasualobserver · 03/03/2016 19:05

lala TY.

Ruhrpott · 03/03/2016 19:09

Bin lids, bits of chicken house and chicken feeder bowls. Input all sorts in mine, don't cook salmon in there though
