Earache started on Sunday, gp on Monday who diagnosed ear infection in right ear, prescribed 7 day course of Amoxicillin.

It has got progressively worse as the week has gone on, now left ear hurts too. Right ear absolutely killing me and my right cheek/jaw.

It should be at least getting better 5 days in, shouldn't it?

The anti b's should be helping by now, I would be looking to see a Dr again in your position. If you were my child I'd be getting an out of hours appointment via 111 or whatever it's called now.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you, I will see how it is by the morning and then perhaps try 111. Thank you.

I had similar problems 14 years ago. It turned out to be a fungal ear infection rather than bacterial. GP referred me to ENT who "hoovered" out gunk and prescribed anti- fungal drops. The tried post vacuuming was unbelievable. Hope you get sorted soon OP.

In your position I would ring 111 tonight to see what they say as your symptoms have gone on a fair while. They can advise you if you need to see someone now.

I have been to ooh, the ear infection is healing thankfully. Neuralgia is the cause of all the pain. Ouch.
