My friend's nephew celebrates his 29 Feb birthday on 28 Feb on mom leap years. I always think that it would be celebrated on 1 March since you weren't earth side on 28 Feb.

I really have no idea though.

There was a general election on 28 February 1974. Should people on the registers as "attainers" born on 29 February 1956 have been allowed to vote?

Some returning officers said Yes, some No. And as elections have now been fixed for May we will never see it determined unless there is a by-election on 28 February 2030 (not likely with a general election due in May 2030) or 2058!

Ooh, interesting question, especially about the election - I would say no to that one, because the birthday is on the day after 28 February, which is 1 March, in non leap years.

But it feels right to celebrate a 29 Feb birthday on the 28th in non leap years. Inconsistent I know, but there you go. But with birthdays, other factors come into play anyway. Like if your birthday was a Sunday, you might go out for meal/drinks on Saturday instead anyway?

I would say 28 Feb for the same reason as mrtwitsglasseye. 1 March is a whole new month so 28 Feb seems more in line with actual birthday.

I would say its upto whoever a birthday it is.

What would a nightclub say, if you were 18 on a non leap year and tried to get in on the 28th February? Very interesting question!
