Charity shop - if you're feeling lucky. I checked everyone I went into and a few months later - bam £3. Sorted Grin

throwingpebbles · 10/02/2016 20:05

I bought mine on 2nd hand selling sites/charity shops

TheSnowFairy · 10/02/2016 20:09

You can get lego base plates from Wilkinson's, they're about £3.50 - not sure re duplo but certainly cheaper for lego ones.

Flingingmelon · 10/02/2016 20:17

Thesnowfairy you are correct! Thank you.

I really didn't fancy buying a bit of plastic with such an enormous mark-up.

Really wilkinson! Will check that out. I couldn't believe it either when I looked for a Lego one

LastOneDancing · 10/02/2016 20:21

Had this exact conversation this morning!

Next stop, wilko. TY snowfairy

ThomasRichard · 10/02/2016 20:29

I've got the Wilkos ones. They're perfect.

Bananalanacake · 10/02/2016 20:30

I want one too for my DD's Duplo collection, luckily my DP has some stashed away in his boxes of Duplo, (which I can't get to easily) he's a collector. I take it you've tried ebay, you must be looking at the Lego Shop at home site.

GloGirl · 10/02/2016 20:48

Perfect timing for this today I am on a Duplo adventure

GloGirl · 10/02/2016 22:21

This one the reviews say Lego not Duplo www.wilko.com/invt/0335884

Is it this one that's for Duplo? So not a big baseboard then? www.wilko.com/construction/first-blox-base-plate-set/invt/0419480

TheSnowFairy · 10/02/2016 23:16

Yes, that's them. If you put the 4 together they'll be about 75cm so quite decent sized.

I would love to take the credit for this but as with most things, I learned it on MN... Grin

SistersOfPercy · 10/02/2016 23:28

Aliexpress is your friend for Chinese rip offs. Joking aside its a very reliable site, I use it a lot for bits like phone cases and battery lights. Allow a month for delivery though.

Flingingmelon · 11/02/2016 19:34

Ooh thanks Sisters. Might get started on the wilko and when we are overrun with the stuff the Chinese plates will arrive :)
