They've just emailed me to say 'Celebrate National Pizza Day! At last it's here!'

It's Shrove Tuesday, aka Pancake Day. Who's going to go out and buy pizza on what is already the carbiest day in the year? Am I missing some irony here?

Pancakes aren't that carby, don't really see the problem and lots of people won't have pancakes anyway.

It's not a problem (for me, given I don't have shares in Domino's) - I'm just amazed they've picked a day when a great many people will be eating pancakes.

The way I eat pancakes they are pretty carby. Pancake batter contains flour and milk. Then on the pancakes I like jam or lemon juice or Nutella.
